Thank you for creating this wonderful video. I have posted a link to this video from other websites, not realizing it was yours. Others have too. Hopefully that is OK.
I will never forget. I still remember virtually every minute of that day as if it was yesterday. Everyone has their 9/11/01 story. I have never shared mine publicly, only with friends. I would like to share one small part of that day with everyone, because it is very telling.
I was in Chicago on business, staying at the Fairmount hotel, downtown, near E. Wacker Drive. The occasion was our industry's annual major convention at McCormick Place. It was, as in NYC, a picture perfect beautiful day.
I was having breakfast at 7:00 a.m. CST with a VP from our company whom I had never met before. He is an Israeli who lives in Israel. I had to be at McCormick by 8:00am so we only had 30 minutes. We finished up and got in a cab at 7:35 or so. Our conversation started about the weather and then went something like this...
[me]"Have you been to Chicago before?"
[him]"Yes, the last time I was here, the Bulls had just won the championship"
[me]"I just read in the newspaper this morning that Michael Jordan may come back and play again, maybe for the Bulls"
He then says..."Isn't it amazing, in your country, the headlines are about Michael Jordan and sports and things like that. In my country, the headlines are about terrorists and bombings almost everyday. You Americans never have to worry about things like that!"
[me]"Yes, and I thank God that we don't".
Of course, these words were all being spoken at the exact moment that the first plane was about to fly into the WTC. The rest, as the saying goes, is history.
NEVER FORGET! TEACH YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT 9/11/01!
