we the american people that pay taxes.
Another question, are they waiting for kerry to show up at the hospital before they make a statement?
While we're at it, let's cut secret service protection for ex-presidents as well. I see nothing wrong with taxpayers picking up the tab for Clinton or any other President's surgery and wish him a speedy recovery.
Let's not appear petty on this.
Don't forget that his wife is also a US Senator, so he is covered by Uncle Sam regardless of whether it is by virtue of his former prez status or his marriage (or whatever you wish to call it) to Hillary.
For the record, I think Uncle Sam should supply health insurance to former Presidents.
Im wondering why he did not go to Canada or England, since their medical system is so wonderfull...
Clinton never got their socialist universal coverage through. So my guess is, he won't pay the bill...after 6 months the hospital writes off the debt. Perhaps he used a cover name when he signed in, like that of an illegal Mexican alien so he doesn't have to pay.
As an ex-CIC, does he receive coverage by the military insurance plan, it used to be CHAMPUS, I'm not sure if that has changed......?????
I think we are paying but thats no big deal to me. On the other hand I'm all for dropping retired senators and representatives from the payroll.
We are. Just like we are paying for the millions of government employees and hacks that make top-shelf salary's, top-shelf medical benefits/perks, and those fantastic government pensions.
We are paying for it all.
I think all government employees including senators and congressmen and X presidents and their wives should get the same quality care as our
wounded combat vets...and even in the same facilities...
Think they would go for that?
wonder why?
I remember Hillary on TV policizing this, stating how she was glad they have health insurance. As she likes to champion the middle class and and poor of this country, how many Americans would be insured if they would turn down taxpayer-subsidized insurance for themselves when they are so wealthy, and put that money toward something else?
I think ex-presidents should be covered, but not ex-Congressmen/women.
No one here :)
I'm assuming the PRC(?)
We the People are paying for it while We the People can't afford medical insurance of our own.
Does the President get FICA/Medicare deducted from his paycheck ?
