Freerepublic might have some Russian liaisons. It would be a great outreach program to Russia, to build a partnership in fighting terrorism, and creating a better way of life.
As President Bush said, this is the new century of Liberty. What better way to send out missionaries for Liberty than to help those who are such innocent victims of terrorism?
And who better to start one of the very first Liberty outreach programs than members of Freerepublic?
Lets show the world what American "grassroots" can do. The roots of Liberty are just waiting to be nurtured in Russia.

And it seems that our Troops in Iraq are not allowed to use ammo manufactured in Israel, as it would offend the Iraquis.

The idea is not without certain practical merit, however.
I would not be surprised if elements of the IDF might consider that sort of thing, even though the porcine stuff is not really OK with the Jewish tradition either, we are told. Maybe a "moderate" Jew would do it.... I dunno.

I know if my Daughter was still in school and I was bringing her in the Morning, I would be in fairly constant violation.
If any Teachers or Schrool employees are caught packing however, they will need to find another career in short order.
Somehow I think the Schools in Israel, where they are a little more accustomed to living with Islam, have a somewhat different standard in effect. Would anyone in the know like to comment?

Your post actually touches on one of the underlying foundations of the 2nd amendment. The citizen militia is the first line of defense against this sort of evil. It's real homeland security. That's one of the reasons the founding fathers put it there. I live in a town about the same size as Belsan, Russia. We have a number of schools, hospitals, and other soft targets here. There are nowhere near enough police here to stand guard at these places. It is also in a state with no concealed carry, whose political class is hell-bent on abolishing private ownership of firearms altogether.
But just think what would happen if any candidate seriously suggested forming citzen volunteer militias to stand guard at the soft targets! The media and the political elites would go into apoplexy just as they did when Alan Keyes suggested we do away with restrictions on the 2nd amendment. If any of us attempted to form such a group on our own, the FBI and ATF would be at the door immediately - urged there by those great "watchdogs" of civil liberties: the ACLU, CAIR, the SPLC and the ADL. We'd be the ones charged with terrorism - for trying to stand guard over own own schools, hospitals, churches, and synagogues..
We are in a two front war: The forces of Islamic jihadism both overseas and here; along with the poisonous fifth-column of PC liberalism within our nation, aided and abetted by those who insist beyond all reason upon keeping our borders wide open to people such as the ones who perpetrated the ghastly evil we see before our very eyes, are dedicated to the complete destruction of this nation and any remnant of the Judeo-Chrisrian civilization it descends from.
No, it's not just one issue. It's in fact a whole series of interconnnected issues. There is a reason for the 2nd amendment. There is a reason to restrict who is allowed to settle here. There is a reason that our historical culture should be held up and not denigrated in the name of multiculturalism. We will either stand and fight for the preservation of our nation and civilization, or it will fall before the onslaught, already well under way, form enemies both without and within. May the Lord be with us.
