BESLAN, Russia - A group of about 30 women and children broke out of a school in southern Russia where militants were holding hundreds of people captive Friday, a news agency reported, after two loud explosions were heard and Russian commandos opened fire near the building.The Interfax news agency said that the school's roof had collapsed and militants were shelling and firing from the building. Interfax said the hostages who broke out of the school included women and children. It was impossible to immediately verify the reports.
Two helicopters hovered overhead. An ambulance rushed from the scene and CNN reported that at least two people were wounded. On Thursday, the militants inside the school had released some 26 of the hundreds of hostages held inside the building since Wednesday.
Reports I have heard have identified them as Muslims.

These vermin tortured and murdered some large number of helpless and innocent children. The time for negotiation, for compassion, even for reason is at an end. It is time - long past time - to end is-slime. Yes - End Islam. Utterly. Completely. Absolutely
1. End the hostage crisis and rescue the children. It's hard to tell in this early stage, but hopefully this is what has happend.
The next phase comes now:
2. Teach the world in no uncertain temrs that this type of activity not only does not achieve its objectives - it brings ruin on its perpetrators and supporters. Unless Russia and the world responds with decisive, merciless harshness, more children will be targeted throughout the western world.
I pity Chechnya and its citizens. But they must now pay a tremendous price if we are to protect the security of the children of this century.
This may sound harsh, but the Russians need to interrogate as harshly as possible any of the terrorists who survived and any of their family members to find the nest of terrorists. They need to (a) try and then execute all the terrorists and (b) destroy their homes and (c) since these are Islamists, declare Islam for what it is, an organized criminal activity, and destroy all the mosques in Russia.
When Abraham Lincoln was dealing with true rebels (not terrorists who murder children), he said that sometimes it is necessary to cut off an arm to save the body.
Don't be surprised if Putin now issues the following orders: Russian forces massively invade Chechnya to provide a corridor of safe exit for anyone loyal to Russia. After a specified period of time--days, not weeks--anyone remaining will be deemed to be an enemy combatant. Russian forces will then withdraw, and Putin will order the complete devastation of Chechnya.
