I live not too far from Senator Miller's office in Young Harris GA. If you want to send the good Senator a note of thanks, post on this thread. I'll print the thread out and drop it off at his office, letting them know that should he like to return a comment, I'll post it here at FR.

You have the heart that the Democratic tinman will never have, the courage that the cowardly lyin' lion can only dream of and the intellectual integrity that the Dem. candidate sorely lacks as he flip flops like a straw man in a tornado. Thank you for pulling back the curtain and exposing your party's candidate for who he is and isn't!

I am a Vietnam Vet (USN 1970 - 1973)and I am writing to thank you for your honest, forthright and truthful words tonight.
Thank you for your support of President Bush and your faithfulness in defending the United States of America over the dictates of the Democratic Party.
You sir are a man of honor and principle and I thank God tonight for you and for the courageous stand you took tonight.
My family and I watched and listened to your outline of the REAL John Kerry as seen by his opposition to the military, the weapons needed to defend America and those who wear the uniform. Your impassioned plea to America in behalf of President Bush and against the Democratic Party was a breath of fresh air and choice words in a dry and thirsty land. Thank you for telling the truth. Please know that you have earned my respect and that of the overwhelming majority of Americans who heard you this evening.
Thank you for also putting Chris Matthews in his place tonight. He is a disrespectful host who tried to brow beat, manipulate and twist your words in order to discredit you on national TV, like he did that poor woman last week. We are so proud of you and the way you handled him and put him in his place. Unlike you, he is not seeking the truth but is instead blinded by his partisanship.
As I close I want you to know that you are the first Democrat I have had any respect for in years because you are a man of principle, not ideology.

Thank you Senator, simply elated to see there is a real representative of the people and wish more "politicians" would step up to the plate and do the moral thing as well.
I wholeheartedly agree!!! Zell Miller is the kind of Democrat that has gotten my vote in the past --- a man who understands that you can be a member of an opposing party without being a completely sold-out propagandist, a man who understands that there are some issues and times of crisis that transcend ALL party loyalities, and a man who sees his duty without the interference of "unique perspective" of the DNC.
Senator Miller is a man of great integrity and love for his country --- it is a shame that he's retiring from the Senate! Democrats that I could possibly vote for are truly an endangered species -- and when this great man leaves the Senate, the species may well be extinct.

Senator Miller: You were absolutely a knight in shining armor tonight--first in defending our country during your speech and then in defending that young lady against Chris Matthews. You were SO great! Your valor is very much appreciated. I never thought I would ever say this, but if you were running for president, you would be the first Democrat I would ever consider voting for. (and I have voted Republican since Nixon),

Your analysis of Mr. Kerry's voting record should be the continued focus of this campaign. As you said 20 years of a man's record can tell far more than 20 weeks of campaign rhetoric. Truer words have not been spoken.
