Bob Kerrey and Max Cleland Call for Karl Rove's Resignation

WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In response to today's outrageous attacks on John Kerry's service by Karl Rove, former Georgia Senator Max Cleland and former Nebraska Senator Bob Kerrey made the following statements

Senator Max Cleland:

"Karl Rove was behind it all, it's part of his smear campaign to tarnish to tarnish the records and service of Vietnam Veterans, and now he's doing it again. I find it interesting that three different people have had to resign from basically the Bush Campaign and their official duties because of this ad, because they are all tied together."

Senator Bob Kerrey:

"If the question is whether or not there is any independence left between the campaign and these swift boat ads, that question has now been answered. Karl Rove has been in enough political campaigns to understand how separate you need to be from these independent efforts and he just ended that separation. If Ginsberg resigned, so should he."

WHAT IN THE WORLD DID KARL ROVE DO?

Did he dare to question John Kerry's ability to lead this nation or remark on Kerry's record in the Senate? If so, he needs to be killed..........I'm being sarcastic by the way so don't jump all over me.

But really,what did he do?

Cleland is being used like soaked Tampon and is to stupid to see it or to filled with hate because he was stupid enough to pick up a live granade.

Well, put it this way, many disabled people are, say, amenable to people fawning and "caring" for them and I'm suspect Kerry and Heinz worked on him from early on knowing deep down they needed an image of a really-injured vet -unlike Kerry. Just like Kerry surrounds himself with heros Kerrey and McCain.

Kerry's been working these guys for a long time....

Yes. Governor Mike Johanns is at the Convention testing the waters for a run against him.

"That happened under the Clinton Administration"

Yes, and Bush was governor. But he didn't meet the Taliban reps, and would have had no reason to. That's not the impression in the movie.

Heard this on Fox from Major Garrett. He played the tape of Kerrey and then Brit replayed it during the roundtable.

The day people can't discuss a matter of public record like Kerry's testimony before that Senate Committee, is the day these clymers will have won.

They won't win and we all will continue discussing Monsieur Kerry's public utterances.

He had the temerity to agree with the SBVTers that Kerry's postwar activities were fair game, because a lot of vets were hurt by it.

Rove agreed in public with the SwiftBoat vets on something, therefore he must be the mastermind of their whole evil and vicious scheme. I'm sure everyone can see the logic in this.

Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Did Rove actually say anything

Yes he did. He was asked about Kerry's 1971 testimony before that Senate Committee. Rove opined Kerry painted with too broad a brush.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

By the way, Kerry and Kerrey are "absolutely interchangeable" -- at least according to Kerry's website.

Grabbing for straws.

This election cycle is unreal. I haven't seen a demoRAT a$%-pounding like this since the Dukakis debacle. They should really start looking at how they're going to pick up the pieces when this is over. That will be the real story.

Don't the Democrats EVER tire of demanding some Republican resign???

Why do these has-beens even have a platform? That senate pension muct be pretty nice that apparently they don't need to work the rest of their lives.

Cleland would be at natural at Storybook Forrest as Humpty Dumpty.

It just occurred to me that this debacle is probably part of the DNC's new 'rapid response team' approach.

Well, it was rapid. At this rate, the entire world will be laughing at the Kerry campaign within 24 hours.

Of course Cleland will need help, but they need to get the lacy drawers they wear out of a twist.

Does it ever seem to anyone else that the Dems take the latest "scandal" (well, in their minds), pull a Bush dudes name from a hat, and demand their resignation? This is getting out of hand.
