Wolf, Greenfield trashing Bush Daughters...
So did their grandmother.
I didn't think it was too great. Very sophmoric and the girls had no comedic timing. If you can't do jokes, don't try. I know what the Republicans were trying to do get the young MTV crowd but I think it made the girls look like the party image they truly have.
At least they were with friends...
If they would have tried that during the MTV awards, they would have had eggs tossed at them.
yeah?
We don't have cable anymore, and when the national public station was throwing amber alerts up here in INdy, hubby flipped to (oh gag me) NBC.
Tom Brokaw was sitting there talking to tim russert...tearing apart the events of the evening in that kind of make a semi-positive comment about something, then immediately give a VERY NEGATIVE statement about it that the networks use against conservatives all the time...Tim said something about Laura justifying the war in Iraq and that America will win it and TOM SAID...'IT MUST BE SAID HERE THAT PRESIDENT BUSH SAID THE WAR ON IRAQ CANNOT BE WON
EXCUSE ME! BUT HUH???????
BIG LIE
MAJOR TWIST
BIG DISTORTION
WRONG!
President Bush said to matt lauer that the WAR ON TERROR cannot be won....(NOT the war on IRAQ), that there will be no surrender involving sitting around a table with formal papers on hand, we are not fighting a nation, or nations, we are fighting groups of people....
The WAR ON IRAQ-to remove SADDAM is finished in that regard. The clean-up, that will take YEARS as democracy slowly takes root, is what we are doing there now MY words)
When talk of the twins came up....they spoke of the comment of the twins and their grandmother-the sex in the city stuff-as rather a surprise for a republican group (tommy brokaw, spinmaster said this) then followed up by saying, ' OF COURSE, the speech was written for the girls by a professional speech writer)
I dispise him.
Of course their speech was either edited, written for and then edited by the girls, or maybe even written for them.....but WHY SAY THAT?
He said it to make sure anything that might have struck a human cord with the audience was diminished.
Good job Tom...your bias is as HEALTHY AS EVER.
Jokes about:
Sex and the City
Outkast
Hamsters that didn't make it.
College girls being college girls.
God help this country /sarcasm ;)
Well, I don't know. I'm too old and my kids are too young for that age group.
Do 18-21 year olds today still use the word "hip"?
At that point, I turned the sound off. To me, it sounded like a bad delivery of a speech written by a 45 year old speechwriter pretending to be 21.
It occurred to me earlier tonight that God doesn't have to be bothered with this; there are plenty of the sanctimonious around -- just on this site -- to get the job done.
:-)
Kerry is tanking, as someone said here a moment ago. That explains it all. CNN won't touch that with a ten foot pole for a while, until and unless somebody releases his internal polling numbers which have probably sunk to single digits.
They've been deliberately kept separate from the political scene in an attempt to give them a normal life of their own. Their performance was, frankly, what you might expect from a pair of recent college graduates who don't have a clue about real life yet even if their dad is the President of the United States.
Agreed.
Oh my freeking god! I can't believe a presodential candidates daughter would do that. No, I wouldn't want Bush's daughters to do that of course. That pic of Kerry's daughter is just disgusting!
They had no "finesse." They were silly. Their jokes were "lame." Their words certainly weren't scripted by others for them to read.
They reminded me of my 19 year old daughter (at times) and some of her friends.
In other words, they reminded me of normal young ladies who are inexperienced, tend to say what they think, and haven't been groomed to be phonies.
What a tribute to the Bush family that their children have been brought up to be normal and not act like entitled snobs from Massachusetts who condescendingly shush an audience. : )
