This is the thread for Day Two of the RNC Convention.
I tuned away from C-SPAN. The seminar callers in the basement of the DNC are now at work, no doubt.
Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC along with JC Watts and Joe Scarboro got it!! They said Arnold and Laura were a great tandem directed towards the "new moms" -- not "soccer moms" but "security moms" who wanted to be reassured that their kids would be coming home from school. Andrea Mitchell was more positive than any on Fox.
The girls at my daughter's sorority loved them and thought they were cute. The guy's at my son's fraternity absolutely loved them. They could have said mush and the guys would have thought they were wonderful.
Truthfully, they came across as warm, loving kids!
"Choose Ye This Day! We hates it forever!"
"The twins are good time girls-- not Mensa members-- and we know that. "
One of the 'good time girls' has a degree from Yale.
Do YOU have a degree from Yale?
They're 22 years old and they connected with a part of the Republican party that is young and hip which obviously you are not.
Proves once again that we live in parallel universes. These people frighten the heck out of me.
Precisely. Demm them all for trying.
Frist spoke? There was some doctor guy on that made me fall asleep. Was it after that?
Let the whinning begin!!
Yep! That's the word, 'DITZES'.
Yep...but they screwed up because Arnold SLAYED!
This pic deserves to be framed. I just wish I could see the cuffs.
Thanks PKM for saying just what I was thinking. I have kids and grandkids who would totally relate to what the twins were saying...and even I (as a gramma) laughed and enjoyed their skewing of their parents and grandparents. We do that in our family and it is very endearing. I do wish those who are trashing them could have the same kind of relationship that the Bushes obviously enjoy with each other.
That is horridly funny!
I doubt anybody here expects them to be perfect. I didn't care for a few of the jokes, and I said so, but nobody's beating me over the head. I do think that some of the criticism of them is a little harsh and hateful, though.
In that I agree. I think the jury is out on whether the twins were helpful or neutral or (not likely) hurtful. Certainly, they are early 20s, and strangely enough, I have a little touch that people in their 20s might really get swayed positively by their spot. Certainly, those of us who are in their 50s or so could find them a bit over the top, but that won't hurt the President.
We'll see after a while.
Regardless, this evening didn't do anything except help the President's campaign.
.
have they shown a clip of chrissy matthews getting manwiched yet?
I believe Mort Kondrake does have 2 daughters.
I L O V E D Arnold! My son met him 5 years ago at a book signing in Costa Mesa, CA. He had his picture taken with Arnold. A very nice man and very patient while my son calmed down enough to speak. Little did we know that the picture we took that day would be worth so much to us today. And boy, Arnold sure knows how to work a crowd! They were lined up for a block to meet him.
Cleveland's got a good young team, I have to say. They rebuilt very quickly.
