I think FAUX may be the key here.
Even though most strippers probably have sex with other women, I doubt they would consider themselves to be lesbians.
Female sexuality is more, um, flexible than male sexuality.
It is so totally clear. Straight guys want to mess around with lesbians so that when they are spent and are fast asleep, the women have something to do.
You obviously haven't been to your local "adult hardware" store.
I have a theory, and have yet to find anyone to strongly disagree.

10% of the women would only have a sexual experience with another woman.
80% of the women would have a sexual experience involving another woman at least once given the right time, place, situation and other woman.

In other words, straight men know that they possess and control through penetration. While they are happy to do so, they do not want the same done to them. Hence, sex with lesbians is fine, as a man can possess and control two women, but sex with gay men is not fine, as a straight man would never want done to him what he does to women. Is that it?

Um, yeah. Being attracted to the sexuality of your own gender is called homosexuality. It's natural for heterosexuals to be revulsed at it. At the same time, heterosexuals are attracted to the sexuality of women. Faux-lesbian displays allow a man to observe the sexual behavior of women without having to be revulsed by simultaneously observing the sexual behavior of another man.
Further, parenting (in the biological sense) requires an investment on the part of the male: the care of a pregnant mate and the children. If that investment is expended on a relationship with no genetic ties to the male, that male will lose an opportunity to pass on his genes. IOW, it jeopardizes his genetic survival. Hence, there is a biological revulsion to promiscuity which is unique to males. (Females know that they are the mother of whatever offspring they have, so this revulsion is less.)
Even after the natural biological ends of these revulsions and attractions are perverted by a grossly artificial situation, the attractions often remain.
Hence, observing Lesbianism allows males to experience the stimulation of observing females in sexual activity, without the revulsion of homosexuality or, strange as it sounds, female promiscuity.
Women, don't believe me? James Bond is a total man-whore. Yet his promiscuity INCREASES his attractiveness to women. Contrarily, women depicted as promiscuous traditionally have lost appealed. (although, nowadays, the promise that a woman will be seen having sex in the next scene has over-ridden this revulsion.) I mean, seriously, how many men would watch a well-clothed Brittney Spears or Madonna or Christine Aguilera for more than five minutes? And don't be confused by characterizations of women who act sex-driven, but too good for their male companions, like Lara Croft: the turn-off isn't behaving sex driven (that's stimulating), but the actual act of having promisucuous sex.
Please also note that these describe human motivations at their most base and animalistic. I'm most certainly not insisting that this is what "all men really want." higher motibations can be sincere. I'm just stating the base way we are programmed as animals prior to the divine spark of reason and charity.
Romans has a passage mentioning women as well as men who are condemned in such sin. It says the principle cause for such sin is the refusal to acknowledge God as God. Romans Chapter 1.
I agree. Especially among younger women these days. There is no real stigma placed on women who experiment with other women.
