I wouldn't sweat it.
Either the topic has to be really of interest to a significant number of people . . .
or
comments on a thread that has a lot of interest have to be really thought provoking or really affirming or combative with someone inclined to bother answering . . .
or
some other variables I'm not thinking of at present.
I think after some months here, the parameters, criteria for what generates the most response will become 2nd nature to you.
Certainly being genuinely helpful can get responses.
But these things also ebb and flow. Friday nights are often slow.
And certain times of the day tend to be slow.
Anyway--welcome and more power to your keeping on trying.
Blessings,

I can't believe these numbers are available to just anyone-- now I'm worried about identity theft.

I've been here since May and have often found it difficult to get responses/feedback from most of my posts. Seems as though there are a lot of "mini groups" that talk back and forth. Am confident that my inputs are worthy, but often get discouraged. Just my 2 cents.(Just kidding. Welcome!)

right - some think you're a jerk - but i bet lots more think you're fun and contribute interesting stuff.
the guys you watch out for are those who everyone knows is a jerk - those are the guys you avoid (or put flamesuit on as you guys say)
but that's the way every forum is. hell that's the way everything in life is!
