Kerry threatens Bush ?
NBC TV News | 8/20/04 | NBC

Posted on 08/20/2004 5:46:39 PM PDT by RS

Did I hear this right on NBC News ? The Kerry people have "threatened " Bush that if he does not denounce the Swiftvets ads , that "everything" would be on the table ? ( Meaning they would start to attack Bushs military record )

Forget McCurry, hire Jane Friggen Fonda as your press spokesman Kerry. That ought to endear you to Nam Vets. Lay down with the dogs and you wake up with the fleas.

Let Barnes & Noble know how you feel:

That's easy, stay away from their stores.

The artist missed out on the actual URL of the drudge report (www.drudgereport.com). If you go where the artwork says to go to (www.drudge.com) you get the phony satire site. Can you forward this note to the artist? Maybe she can correct it on her server.

The moment when Bush nodded at Gore and looked amused at Gores pseudomacho move was my personal fave in all debates, well except for Mike Dukaikis being asked about the poor raped and murdered Kitty,,,I still laugh at that. And I keep saying the moment in the Bush debate that you referred to is the moment Bush won.

Excellent!

BUSH HAS THE INITIATIVE, PEOPLE!!!!

Kerry is off his game going into our convention!!! The Swift Vets have derailed his campaign with a couple of hundred thousand dollars. The Dems had George Soros, Hollywood money, Michael Moore, and everyone in the Propaganda Ministry on their side. The Swift Vets had only their stories and a little money.

The battle is being fought on a terrain of our choosing, not his. He is going to talk about what happened in the early seventies.

PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED IN THE EARLY SEVENTIES, THEY WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE CANDIDATE WILL DO FOR THEM NOW!

I'm pinging the Tator because, several months ago when everyone was panicking, he said that something like this would happen to Kerry around the time of our convention. Tator didn't predict Swiftboats, but he did insist that Kerry's support would begin to erode about this time due to the objective factors in the economy.

People in Ohio aren't lining up to collect unemployment. The car lots are selling cars. Not as many as they'd like, but they are selling cars. The frieght trucks are on the highways. And people are dining out a lot.

I work in the kitchens department of Home Depot (when I'm not doing research for my novel, Panzer Lehr). People are coming in to buy kitchens from American Woodmark, Kraftmaid, and Home Depot's two protected lines, Premier and Thomasville (we bought the name: Schrock in Pennsylvania makes the cabinetry). Next time you are on the highway on a long trip, check how many Kraftmaid trucks you see making deliveries to their distribution centers in Orlando, Atlanta, Memphis, Los Angeles, Salt Lake, etc.. I bet you see several, especially if you're travelling interstate.

People are coming in to buy kitchens on credit because they've re-fied, or they've got good credit, or they feel they can afford to make the payments on the loan for the kitchen. People are voting with their pocketbooks.

Bush will focus like a laser on what is happening now, and will provide detailed proposals for a second term. It may be the tax thing, it may not. But Bush is as bold as Kerry is cautious, which is why I think Bush will sieze the initiative for good in New York.

Kerry's Achilles' Heel has been wounded by those he thought would support him. His shameless pumping up of his own service record relative to other Swift Boat Veterans has brought about the karmic justice that Tator, myself and others predicted would come to pass. To paraphrase Gandalf the White, we have arrived at the Turn of the Tide.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Let him....Kerry's campaign is imploding, and it will just be a matter of time before he has a Howard Dean moment, and gives his own "I have a scream" speech.

I just got home with my copy of Unfit for Command from Barnes & Noble. They got a (first) shipment of 10 in and were already reserved so they kept them behind the desk. I asked if I could buy any more (they said no) and when they'd get more (they said 4-6 weeks). I asked them if this had anything to do with the legal actions I heard were filed today to try and shut down the ads and ban the book ... they (really) didn't like hearing that and said there was nothing they could do it was a problem getting them from the publisher.

Some Dem spin today that the POWs shouldn't be allowed to speak because they'd had to listen to Kerry when they were being tortured and that obviously meant they were biased.

It might be worse than that -- if this is true:

Yesterday a caller into Hannity's radio program said that she had talked to a sales clerk at B&N. The clerk informed her that B&N had "RECALLED" all the Unfit for Command books -- claiming that "we won't carry a book that is full of so many lies".

The book is #1 on the B&N sales rank (as well as Amazon). However, read this snippy little preface to the book "From Our [B&N] Editors" (I've highlighted their biased comments):

Adding to the outcrop of politically charged manifestos in the 2004 election campaign, this highly controversial tome trumpets a very specific agenda: discrediting the military record of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War. The book, written by longtime Kerry adversary and fellow Vietnam Navy vet John O'Neill -- who interviewed Navy men who served concurrently with Kerry on other Swift Boats -- charges Kerry acted irresponsibly in combat, did not deserve his medals, and betrayed Vietnam vets with antiwar activities. These claims have generated a huge maelstrom of countercharges and news reports over assertions that none of the damning testimony comes from men who actually served on the Swift Boat commanded by Kerry and that O'Neill dismiss the many laudatory accounts from the men who served under Kerry's command. Amid this swirl of charges and countercharges, one thing seems certain: This inflammatory book is sure to generate a firestorm of publicity.

On Aug. 9th, Human Events reported that the B&N website was "hacked" by Kerry supporters to read "Fit for Command" (yeah, right, a major e-commerce site is "hacked" -- more likely, B&N employees changed the image):

http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=4751

There are only two possibilities here -- the site was hacked or it wasn't.

If it was "hacked", would you want to purchase from a site that doesn't have good security?

If it wasn't "hacked", would you want to purchase from a site that does such blatent manipulation?

Please. They'd run me outta town on a rail. I'd vote to overturn Marbury v. Madison, as well as Roe.

Besides, my hobbyhorse would be to repeal the amendment that led to direct election of Senators.

You don't want someone like me on the court. You want more people like Clarence Thomas on the court.

Be Seeing You,

Chris
