Did I hear this right on NBC News ? The Kerry people have "threatened " Bush that if he does not denounce the Swiftvets ads , that "everything" would be on the table ? ( Meaning they would start to attack Bushs military record )

Big whoop. They've been doing that for months.

"Everything?" Does that mean the lying, degenerate liberal swine are going to say that Bush is a liar, war criminal, oil-soaked imperialist?

The little liberal piglets are squealing rather loudly over this one, don't you think? Hit them harder.

Is there a pool as to when this scampaign will self-destruct?

I think that based on his calls for censorship (pulling the book from the shelves) indicate that he has already jumped the shark.

The debates are going to be a hoot to watch.

Kerry was AWOL from 76% of senate intelligence meetings. Which was more recklass and put more lives at risk?

Equate Kerry threats to that of Iran and their first strike option.

IMHO, empty threats.

I've been thinking that last time they attacked G.W.'s service his poll numbers went UP. If they really want to attack G.W. again on this issue, be my guest. LOL

If they have other information they think will destroy G.W., bring it on. I'm calling their bluff. Get it all out now so they have nothing to toss at Bush in October.

Kerry, if you think we're running from this threat, think again. SHOW WHAT YOU HAVE!!!

wouldn't it be better to shift the public debate to what Kerry hasn't done for the thirty years he's been on the public dole since then?

No. I don't think you appreciate what was just done to John Kerry. This was a draw play that will go down in history.

You have to remember that a large fraction of the voting population is too young to remember this stuff. As much as they might have thought this "Viet Nam war hero" stuff about Kerry was boring and so-what, they had no reason to doubt it. OK, here come some Swift Vets to say his medals were bogus, but 30 years later, who really cares. The guy probably did some heroic stuff, even if he exaggerated some of it.

But by poking at it, the Swift Vets made Kerry puff himself up and wave his medals even more. "I am so a hero, how dare you even question it!"

Now comes the second ad.

Now these people who didn't know John Kerry or Viet Nam from a parking lot are treated to a John Kerry they didn't know about. And this one is the antithesis of the war hero they thought he probably was. How can a guy who testified like that stand up now and act like Joe War Hero? This does not compute.

This ad campaign is a magnificently executed draw play. The whole defense came rushing in, yelling "War hero! War hero! He is so a war hero!"

And now people find out he was actually Jane Fonda.

People who do not remember the history of this are going to feel like they were tricked by John Kerry into giving him the benefit of the doubt about being some kind of hero. Maybe they didn't even care about him being a hero. But they will care that he tried to trick them. Nobody wants a guy in the White House who tries to trick people about who he is. Kerry is toast.

Oh? And just exactly when did they STOP attacking Bush's military record? Here's a clue buttwipe: Bush isn't running on his military record.

Bring it on!

"John Kerry is a fighter and he doesn't tolerate lies from others," spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter shot back at President Bush (search) spokesman"

Well...is she saying he doesn't tolerate lies from "others"...just himself? (That's the way I read it!)

They are going to launch ads filled with lies anyhow. They really don't care about the truth, that's their MO.

If they repeat something often enough they hope the American people will just believe it.

But Kerry was in Vietnam....you did know that, didn't you?

You mean they're going to dredge up the "Bush was AWOL from the NG!" attack for a fifth time? Is there something about the number five that makes them think the attack will be any more successful than it was the first four times it was trotted out?

Maybe. You could well be correct, but there is a side of me, based on the prior history of Democrat tactics, that suspects that they have only been forced into unleashing a trick or two early. It is just extremely hard to believe that the top Dem operatives were stupid enough to think that they could overhype and make center stage Kerry's Vietnam experience and all the baggage surrounding it without taking some severe negative hits. Thus I wonder if this has been planned to sooner or later be in a position to declare that because "The Bush campaign has gone dirty" they have no choice but to fight back with suprise mega dirt(most likely minor, but enough for the media to completely misportray into a damaging myth.)

IOW, debute one of the DUI-style bombshells that they've had 4 years to uncover, develop, and fabricate enough pieces to sell a faux storyline. Create a 'both side are dirty'/'I don't know what to believe'/'I'm so sick of it' dirt quagmire.

Chris Lehane didn't take a 4 year vacation.

This will just give W the opportunity to state that Kerry can clear the matter up with releasing his entire military record--just like W did. sKerry is running the most secretive campaign this nation has ever seen!

When you think about all the tens of millions of dollars spent by MoveOn and the other Rat 527s to paint the President as a mass murdering psychopath and the effect they've had, and compare to the $1 million the SBVfT have shelled out and the effect that has had, it really gives a new meaning to "bang for your buck."
