Are you having difficulty finding Unfit for Command locally, for reasons other than the publisher didn't print enough copies?
The thread linked above has numerous examples of book store employees standing in the consumer's way when they try to find this book.
Perhaps if FReepers list their experiences in one place we can see where the bottlenecks are (they seem to be scattered) and take action as appropriate to help the liberals now suppressing sales to see the error of their ways.
mystery1 wrote on the above-linked thread:I live in San Diego and just called 2 Borders stores. I was told they don't have it in stock. When I asked why they wouldn't have a book in stock that was Number 1 on Amazon... I was told by one, that the book had errors in it and had to be sent back for corrections, and the second store told me that the book was pulled due to slander and they would get a revised book in soon.
I asked to speak to the manager in both cases and were told in both cases that they had just reprimanded the employee who told me that story.
After further conversation I was told by one of the managers that they had been getting repeat calls from someone who was saying the book was slanderous and not to sell it.
I have contacted their corporate offices and relayed my experience with their outlets, in a voice mail and asked for a return call.
I also contacted a Barnes and Noble store and was told they didn't have any and they blamed the publisher. I also spoke to the manager of that store and was told they only ordered 5 copies because they didn't expect that there would be that big demand for it.
Once I informed him that it was number on Amazon 2 weeks ago, and surely all stores would have known it was popular way in advance... he had no reply, except to refer me to the website for B&N where I could find contact info for their corporate offices.

I went to a Barnes and Noble (near Seattle) tonight, and was told that "the west coast" didn't get any. I was also told that they have "no idea" when they will get some.
I have my own copy, but I wanted to buy a copy for a loved one.
Not sure if they were feeding me a line, but they made absolutely no effort to put me on a waiting list or order one for me. I got my copy from a Seattle retailer (Amazon) - so I assume when they say "west coast", they mean west coast B&N stores.
Interesting that Amazon has an approximate ship date, but Barnes and Noble doesn't
By the way - while I was there, I saw many, many anti-Bush books on prominent display. A book of bumper stickers ridiculing the POTUS, that "Bush Haters" handbook or some such thing - book after hate-filled book.
Thank you!!
From your link to the publisher......

Can you IMAGINE the stink, if WE did this with a book of theirs?
GOOD GRIEF!
Well...I do hope you get yours in a timely fashion. I hope EVERYONE does!!
I'll call the publisher and order two tomorrow, OK? One for me, one for you. We can work out the details in secret in FRmail. OK? :-)
If you are serious about that, you'll have to explain to me how to use FRmail. I'm not very savvy with internet stuff.
And....Promise you that you won't get stiffed either.
Please read conshack's post at 29: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1195207/posts?page=29#29 in case you know of someone who can help out.
Scroll up to the top of this page. You'll see the word "Mail". Click it. Well, give me a sec so I can mail you something.....
That's FRmail. It'll be between you & I, no one will see it.
It's Hugh Hewitt.
Righty-o. That's the thread (linked at top of this thread) that finally pushed me to put up this one. I'd been reading so many posts by FReepers who've been getting lied to and treated badly when they ask for this book (excepting those instances where the publisher hasn't been able to meet the demand locally) that I decided to do what I could to get the data collected.
I couldn't agree more with your post at 48.
To get the rest of the Salon story you had to register or use their one-day free pass by viewing an ad. I didn't want to mess with either. So I don't know.
Both stores had all the anti-Bush books displayed prominently and I wasn't able to find one pro-Bush anywhere unless you count Tommy Franks' book as one.
I ended up ordering a copy from Amazon.
Brad's Gramma came to the rescue. Please nix my post at 89.
Okay, gotcha, but any other troops out there who want a copy, FReepmail me your APO.
