We're all descended from Adam and Eve. One's family history may be interesting, but it is of little or no value in determining who would be a good President - or for that matter, who would be a good ditch digger. In short, who gives a rat's arse!

Forbes was descended from William Forbes, the Laird of Newe The Laird of Newe? That is too good. If you ask me the title is hereditary. I think that should be JK's new moniker.

That makes a big difference to some people. Kennedy worshippers still refer to "Camelot" and "America's royal family". We don't have one.

Here's my idea. We get some of those brain scanners, and we install them over the voting booths. If the brain scanner detects that anyone is voting for any candidate... Bush, Kerry, or anyone else... on the basis of how many royal bloodlines they have, then a trap door opens up and they drop into a tank of sharks. |

Kerry Said to Have Many Ties to Royalty No. That's Juan Carlos. He's the Spanish King
Another case of John Kerry being confused about who he is.

"Forbes was descended from William Forbes, the Laird of Newe, an extended family that included many baronets, Burke's Peerage said."
Technically, baronets are not aristocracy. A baronetcy is a hereditary knighthood. A knight is a commoner (unless they possess other titles as well).
King Henry VIII came up with the idea when he was short on cash (he spent a lot of time fighting with other countries, which gets expensive) and needed to figure out a new way to soak the middle class for more taxes. When someone is created a knight, he has to pay a tax (scutage) to the Crown. Henry started making a lot of merchants and others baronets, and gave them the welcome news along with a hefty tax bill. They were not happy with the idea at the time.

Pretty soon he'll start claiming he's the Queen of England.

Has anyone heard anything else about if Kerry is related to Franklin Peirce? I heard one story a couple of weeks ago. Because if he is than I am distantly related to him. (gasp)
