George and Laura Bush to be on with Larry King for the full hour tonight. I don't usually watch LKL because of his lame questions. But it should be interesting.
"he said Impeachment Boy threw himself into the job body and soul"
That was really, really sly. I caught a little twinkle in W's eye when he said it too. I'll be he nudged Laura with his knee under the table when he said it!
These democRAT shills are absolutely disgusting in their rudeness and blatant disrespect for any REPUBLICAN interviewee (I can't say guest, because strangers get treated better), much less the PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY of the United States!
It's comforting to know that the undecided public is just as indignant as I am when they see this contemptable behavior and that makes our side look much more attractive!
I swear...that statement was meant for those of us who are "in the know". A little red meat for us to dine on. And he knows we enjoyed it too ! :->
I saw his reply to the tax reform question as a reply that will *allow* him to endorse it at the planned time (the week before the convention, or the week of).
He *refused* to say he would *not* endorse the change, when Larry asked. Instead he again switched the topic to reassuring the public he is not a tax-raiser.
Stay tuned for scrapping the IRS to be the main plank. Bush and Rove have planned this since before he was elected President, and all the data is there to support this, if you pay attention.
It was hinted at during the first tax cuts. The White House commissioned a study on the issue, and even published a report.
This will be the main campaign issue, and everything that has happened this week is consistent with it. And with delaying the announcement until the planned upon time.
"I'm not sure it's the best option for tax reform, but a sales tax would close all loopholes and dramatically lower tax rates for low- and middle-income Americans. I encourage people to find out more about it if they'd like."
Wow, that was hard.
Larry has to wear diapers! NY Post reported on some who was going through King's garbage and found a box of ADULT diapers! LOL
My husband said the same over dinner. He usually doesn't comment (like I do!), but he said it was pretty clear.
OK. I'll let you claim credit for predicting it. I'll take blame if I'm wrong by saying Bush wants nothing to do with it.
What does that have to do with anything?
Adam, I got here late but wanted to let you know I saw your pics & report...great job. One pic was so close it looked as though you could reach out & touch him. I'm so glad you were able to attend. I can only imagine how high the energy was.
Now there's a visual I could have done without....
I agree that is classic Bush, I had to laugh at that remark.
It funny on several levels. Among them he's a cocky, arrogent Hollywood type, and also he just fathered a child a couple years ago.
Sorry if I hit a nerve.
I'd just think he should be humble when you live into your 70's. Instead, he appears to be getting more full of himself.
"Welcome to Free Republic; I see you joined us a few months ago."
Thanks. Am enjoying it immensely! Re Larry King, I thought he was okay. Not friendly or fawning or anything, but I didn't think he was openly hostile. I didn't see his manner as disrespectful, because I think that's how he interviews everyone(no suit coat, leaning on the table).
It actually comes off better for W, in my opinion, if there's a little edge to the interview. That way it's not seen as Larry King just giving him a free pass, a one-hour commercial. Actually, the fact that King asked some hard questions was good (even if his objective was to trap him), because it allowed W to really address some hard issues on a national forum watched by many, many undecided voters.
Maybe I've just gotten too hardened by all the other commentators who are vastly worse.
He's in his seventies? He just fathered a child a couple of years ago? That's just yucky. Don't you have lawn bowling down there?
I don't think so .. she prefers it. Besides, Larry has interviewed them before and I'm sure he called her Laura then.
That's right .. it's not a photo op like the dems always do.
And the biggest ass of all, Caaarville.
I've got to agree with you there. I am a huge W fan, but sometimes I cringe during his interviews. I loved every second of this one. It was simply outstanding. I am absolutely sure that President Bush is a man who not only wants a second term, but is supremely and uniquely qualified to be President during this next term. This was a homerun, and on CNN no less. Larry King was a transparent ornament in a beautiful picture. GO BUSH.
If you think that answer, coming on Larry King's terms, is the way to unveil the plan then I don't think you fully understand the politics involved or the opposition. It's too important not to come at a time and place of the President's choosing, and that goes for Hastert too if you are worried about protecting him.
