John O'Neill To Be On Hardball Tonight
Hardball | 8/12/04 | Chris Matthews

Posted on 08/12/2004 4:04:32 PM PDT by pookie18

Since O'Neill will be the guest, I'm sure it will be "hardball". However, after what he encountered on Crossfire with Carvile (sic) & Leapin' Lanny Davis, this'll probably feel like a walk in the park...

O'Neill is hanging on. Hurly does not have facts, just the usual attack. Chris is reallly pissing me off, skeptical as I would expect, but I think I sense a slight a softening in his attitude.

BTW--I missed it. Did Hurly serve with Kerry

LOL!!!!O'Neill voted for Gore & Perot! Ya gotta love it!

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm in the mood to put a brick through my TV screen tonight.

When you've finished with it, can I borrow that brick?!!!

Kerry chose the navy (like his hero JFK) over the army or air force......safer, he thought. He changed to the Swift boats, thinking that they were also safe, but there mission changed, and he was in more dangerous action. In his own words, Kerry admitted to this.

George W. Bush chose to fly F-102. More difficult and more dangerous......Bush tried to be sent to Vietnam, but the war was winding down and F=102's were being fazed out....facts seldom mentioned.

O'Neill is a better man than Chris Mathews, James Carville or Lanny Davis ever dreamt of being.

And I forthwith offer my services to O'Neill to keep Carville out of his face any time, any place.

Yup, Oneill is his usual calm self with just the facts. He is taking apart both matthews and Hurley.

And Matthews has been nasty about GWB's guard service all along. He flat out states that Bush went there to avoid going to Vietnam. "Everybody knows that's how it worked" Chris will say, barring any dissent.

He's been a supreme jerk for months now whereas long ago he seemed to have a core of decency.

I did not say he was up for election this year.

When his time to run comes up.....they don't think he will win.

"The election laws in Jersey have something to do with it"
(my quote)

You just elaborated on what I was talking about.
Yeah, they are trying to dodge an election for this year.

It says that Chris Matthews is a jerk, and he allows his bias to dictate his intelligence and the conversation.

I sent the Swift Boat Veteran's a donation today. It's the least I can do to help these incredibly brave men, who once again must battle those who cursed them in the past. THEY are true patriots.

I'd give real money to have Hurley answer the question...instead of just attacking O'Neill...

Back from break and Chris wants to move on to Bronze, but O'Neill says he didn't finish the story on the first Purple Heart. He finishes (initially denied).

Then Hurley jumps in after Chris sighs like "You have your nerve saying that" and Hurley and Chris accuse O'Neill of not talking to the supporting crewman and O'Neill says none of them could have anything to say about how he got that first purple heart.

O'Neill calmly laying out the way these units worked and this "ON" the boat business is nonsense.

Matthews mischaracterizes the whole thing and O'Neill says no, we're saying look at the supporters, look at us, look at the Navy, look at the documents.

Hurley sounding agitated again and is about to read (out of context will be my guess)
