The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

latest from AP:

MOSCOW (AP) — A Russian airliner crashed and a second disappeared from radar about the same time Tuesday night after both planes took off from the same Moscow airport, raising fears that terrorism was involved.

The Russian news agency Interfax reported that a hijacking signal was activated on the second plane before it went missing.

There was no word on survivors among the 89 people believed to be aboard the planes, which left Moscow’s Domodedovo airport 40 minutes apart, Russian news agencies reported.

President Vladimir Putin ordered an investigation by the nation’s top intelligence agency, and security was tightened at airports across the country.

Authorities have expressed concern that separatist rebels in the southern republic of Chechnya could carry out attacks linked to this Sunday’s presidential election there. Rebels have been blamed for a series of terror strikes that have claimed hundreds of lives.

There are some subtle changes.

For example,

The one today mentions *they know* how to extinguish the wick with water...(if I'm reading it right)

Here's some interesting articles from the Russian newspaper. It's fascinating to get their twist on our current events:

Apology from an American

Welcome to the USA to Illegal Immigrants

Russian Secret Service

I only check in on the TM theads intermittently, but this story caught my eye: I lived in Omaha two years ago and teach at K-State. The fellow presumably knew what he had if it's used in making dyes. He was taking a Masters degree in Apparel and Textiles.

There is something odd about offering a huge bribe to hush up a fender-bender, and even odder about an apparent suicide attempt in the wake of its refusal.

His name sounds Hindu rather than Muslim, so the authorities' dismissal of a terrorist link is plausible. OTOH I've read accounts of a resonably highly placed operative in an al Qaeda-linked Kashmiri group who was a convert from Hinduism to AQ's brand of Islam. We do have a Saudi-financed mosque here in Manhattan. . .

Post 2125 strengthens the theory that the mosque is booby-trapped:

Iraq: Foreigners threatening mosque
National conference troubled by protests, attacks

Sunday, August 15, 2004 Posted: 4:44 PM EDT (2044 GMT)

The Imam Ali mosque serves as camp for supports of al-Sadr.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Twenty-five heavily armed foreigners holed up inside the Imam Ali Mosque in Najaf have rigged it with explosives and are threatening to blow up the building if attacked, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said Sunday in a written statement.

The statement said the interim Iraqi government has ordered national guard forces not to target the mosque, and not to approach it.

The mosque, in the center of Najaf, is a holy site to Shiite Muslims. They believe it houses the tomb of the Prophet Muhammed's cousin and son-in-law. (snip)

Weapons-packed van shuts down central Montreal
Canadian Press

MONTREAL — Police found a large stash of weapons and explosives Tuesday after an investigation of a suspicious minivan tied up traffic through downtown streets for several hours.

Montreal police sent in a robot to examine several pieces of luggage after a SWAT team members in full protective gear investigated the vehicle.

They seized about 15 firearms, including automatic weapons like machine guns, handguns and possibly rifles. They also found 90-135 kilograms of explosives.

Spokesman Const. Miguel Alston said it was one of the city's largest busts.

"The only good news is that the explosives and the detonators were not connected so it could not explode," he said.

Police couldn't say what type of explosives were involved, how powerful they were or who they belonged to.

"We cannot confirm any organization at this point," said Alston.

Police had been warned about the vehicle carrying commercial Quebec licence plates from a source but didn't receive a call through 911.

The incident took place in front of a building along Rene-Levesque Boulevard that houses the consulates of Costa Rica and Panama. Police cordoned off several streets, causing traffic to back up along a nearby highway.

I read today in the Russian newspaper, Pravda, that the Chechnians involved in the rebellious acts are called "freedom fighters." How's that for a label if, in fact, they were involved in these air mishaps?

Definition of word "Terrorist."

I'm not entirely sure it is not the exact same ultimatum that was posted before Christmas. The machine translation makes it hard to tell. I went line by line and it matches pretty closely.

Why repost it now?
