The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

And another thing...

Why in the hooey would you "eat" or "drink" a corrosive, knowing what it was going to do to your "insides"? The only logical explanations are:

1) he was trying to destroy evidence and didn't mind becoming a "martyr" or

2) he didn't know what it would do to him, which means he wasn't knowledgable about what he had and was transporting it for someone else.

A few articles today with regard to Muslims with "alleged" ties to terrorism....I tried to find a few articles on blond haired, blue eyed, Christians or Jews with terrorism ties...but alas all terrorism articles seem to have one common thread....

US Revokes Visa of Islamic Scholar Who Was to Teach at Notre Dame - August 24, 2004

(South Bend) - The State Department has revoked the visa granted to an Islamic scholar who was scheduled to begin teaching this week at the University of Notre Dame.

A State Department spokeswoman says Tariq Ramadan's visa was revoked at the request of the Department of Homeland Security.

She said that to obtain a work visa, applicants must meet the requirements and the prospective employer must vouch for them. She declined to give any other details. Ramadan was to teach at Notre Dame's Kroc Institute. Classes begin today.

Militant Sentenced for Jakarta Hotel Bombing (8/24/04)

24 Aug 2004, 10:21 UTC An Indonesian court has sentenced a Muslim militant to 10 years in prison for his role in last year's bombing of a Jakarta luxury hotel.

The court ruled Tuesday that Mohammed Ihsan, also known as both Jhoni Hendrawan and Idris, helped plan the 2003 bombing of Jakarta's Marriott hotel. The blast killed 12 people.

However, the Jakarta court cleared Idris of involvement in the 2002 Bali bombings on a legal technicality. Idris is accused of being a member of the regional militant group Jemaah Islamiyah, which has been blamed for both the Bali and Marriott bombings.

Anaheim Mosque Founder Denies Terrorism Link as he seeks Release (8/24/04)

LOS ANGELES A top fund-raiser for an Islamic charity with alleged ties to terrorists says he thought money he raised went only for humanitarian projects.

Abdel-Jabbar (AHB'-duhl jah-BAHR') Hamdan is a founder of an Anaheim, California, mosque. He testified yesterday at an immigration hearing in Los Angeles.

Hamdan also asserted that his links to his family in the United States area so strong that he should be freed as he fights deportation.

He was arrested on immigration charges last month as federal authorities unsealed an indictment against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development. It charged that the Richardson, Texas-based charity funneled millions to the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Hamdan insists he has no information to support allegations that the group aided Hamas.

Have to disagree. the drawing is obviously not a great map, but the jut on the jihadi N. Dakota is actually in Minneosta. It appears the land at the end might be the upper peninsula of Michigan or Wisconsin or rep. of both.

A few days ago, there was a report of a missing shipping container in Canada, all I recall is the 3 days that it took for them to make the report.

I don't recall who posted it. I am sure it was on this thread.

I see what you mean. I was just going with my initial feeling...based on an area that I am familiar with.

But the image in the drawing does convey that they have an idea of how and where to get access to the U.S.

It sort of looks to me like the bomb could be transferred from the boat (on the left) to the object on the right (train?)

Then, if you look at it another way, it looks more like a boat bringing a bomb into a city to detonate it in the Harbor.


The second would be consistent with the old OBL pics of NY harbor.

Missing Container Raises Questions About Security (Halifax, Canada)

FROM CANADIAN PRESS HALIFAX — It took three days for Canada's national police force to be told that a suspicious shipping container was missing from a Halifax pier last spring.

The theft of the boxcar-size crate in mid-April and the delay in reporting it initially sent shivers through senior ranks of the RCMP, Canada's lead federal agency in the war on terrorism.

The delay "was more than enough time" for a potential terrorist to drive the container up to — and possibly over — the U.S. border, said a senior RCMP source, who spoke to The Canadian Press on the condition of anonymity. Compounding the problem, customs officers with the Canada....

IMHO right now with the current information: I think you are all right (all who commented on the pic location). After looking at various geo survey maps, it looks to me like it is a rough semblance of the entire U.S. northern border -- stretching all the way from Washington to the top of Maine. But they really compressed the border especially from Minnesota to Maine. I guess they don't know how to draw; they are not artistic! It looks like a map that we would all draw freehand of the northern border if the nooks and crannies and scale of the portrayal were not crucial. Perhaps?

"Customs was very thorough; they spent time checking out information on their computers, and surprisingly, had a large staff on duty. No more waving you through like they used to do.

Glad to hear it's better. I went through last summer with 4 carloads of Venture Scouts at International Falls. Except for the one car with our one African American Scout in it (that car was pulled and checked, go figure...), we were all waived through, in and out. I had all the paperwork in order,but they didn't even look at it for my carload.
