The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

With the nation on high alert for al-Qaida terrorists, the Department of Homeland Security is putting its border officers through "etiquette" classes to soften their image and make them less threatening to arriving foreign immigrants, WorldNetDaily has learned.

Man Who Videotaped Buildings Won't Be In Court This Week

POSTED: 3:43 pm EDT August 19, 2004
UPDATED: 4:04 pm EDT August 19, 2004

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The man at the center of a possible terrorism investigation in Charlotte will not appear in court again this week.

The attorney for Kamran Akhtar said his client would not ask for a probable cause hearing that would have forced prosecutors to spell out their case against him.

The only charges against Akhtar are immigration violations.

Federal agents have been investigating Akhtar since a police officer found him videotaping buildings uptown last month.

Prosecutors have said they plan to take their case against Akhtar to a grand jury next week.

So does that mean that "Airport Security" is now an oxymoron?

19-year-old arrested on terror charge (United Kingdom)

A 19-YEAR-OLD man was arrested under the Terrorism Act today along with two men suspected of immigration offences.

The teenager was detained at an address in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham, West Midlands Police said. A spokesman confirmed that two other men, aged 24 and 36, were also arrested in relation to immigration matters.

Police continued to search the three-bedroom terrace property in Gleave Road today.

Neighbours described how they were woken up shortly before 3.30am as around a dozen police marksmen and dog handlers arrived at the house before the front door was battered open.

Diane Azmat, who lives next door, said: "I heard the most almighty crash of the front door being smashed open and then the most horrendous scream. It frightened me to death."

Another resident, Sally Bishop, said the three men, who are understood to be of Middle Eastern origin, had moved into the house around 12 months ago.

The 36-year-old said: "We were really shocked when we found out why they had been arrested.

"They did not have much to do with anybody and we never really saw them."

The arrest came a day after eight suspects appeared in court charged in a plot linked to security alerts at US financial targets. Officials said today’s arrest was not related to that operation.

I think it always has been an oxymoron :-) I won't bore you with the details of one of my "lovely" experiences with airport security. Just suffice to say it did not leave me feeling "secure".

Inmate Crew Finds Pipe Bomb in Durham Co.

POSTED: 4:40 pm EDT August 19, 2004
UPDATED: 4:51 pm EDT August 19, 2004

DURHAM, N.C. -- A Department of Corrections cleanup crew discovered a suspicious looking pipe with a fuse sticking through its cap just after 9 a.m. Thursday.

The pipe was packed with explosives, DOC officials said.

Bomb specialists decided that the half-foot-long pipe was too dangerous to move, so they shut down traffic just after 11 a.m. and detonated the explosive where it lay.

Lt. Don Pashcall, of the Durham County Sheriff's Department, told NBC 17 an investigation is under way to determine who made the bomb

Nuclear data found missing at D-O-E office in New Mexico

WASHINGTON For the second time in recent weeks, the Energy Department says some data involving nuclear weapons has turned up missing.

This time it involves the regional office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Energy Department says that an "accounting discrepancy" involving three copies of a "controlled removable electronic media" -- or CREM -- was discovered as part of the nationwide inventory of such devices. The inventory was ordered a month ago after two CREM data devices were reported missing at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, also in New Mexico.Despite extensive searches, investigators have yet to find those two devices.D-O-E officials have not suggested the devices were stolen, but are concerned about lax procedures and security.

Iran allegedly aborts anti-U.S. plot

Aug 19, 2004, 13:05

Iran reportedly aborted a plot by al-Qaida and radical Iranian Revolutionary Guards to assassinate U.S. officers in central Asian countries neighboring Iran.

The Saudi daily Al-Sharq al-Awsat Thursday quoted sources close to Iranian intelligence, which is controlled by reformists, as saying that they discovered the plot after intercepting messages between al-Qaida operatives and Iranian Revolutionary Guards, along with the so-called Quds Brigade, in Iran.

Iranian intelligence also monitored telephone conversations between a senior official in the office of Iranian spiritual guide Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a senior operative of al-Qaida in Iran.

It said their findings indicated that there is a sensational plot in which members of Quds Brigade, al-Qaida and the Revolutionary Guards were involved to assassinate U.S. military personnel and intelligence officers operating in central Asia, notably in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Turkmenistan, which are Iran's neighbors.

The paper said the plot was aimed at drawing Iran into direct confrontation with the United States as well as countries located on its northern border.

CROSS-DRESSING TERRORISTS LATEST U.S. SECURITY THREAT

Beware of the woman with the 5 o'clock shadow

(Excerpted) Authorities are concerned that terrorist surveillance teams -- dressed as women -- have been scouting malls, New York's Trump Tower, the Sears Tower in Chicago, and the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, says a source.

They've also been trying to gather intelligence on military bases -- including Fort Bragg, Camp Lejeune Marine base, and Pope Air Force Base.

Ya know, some of the Jordanians that would cycle in and out of the local smoke shop here, were beautiful men. Very fine features and long long eyelashes. I could see them cross dressing and passing with ease.

.. shuddering..
