The simple fact that Iran has threatened our troops in theatre with a preemptive attack should be enough to vindicate any decision to take out their C&C. I still can't determine exactly why they're fishing for us to attack them.

Oozing venom and jihad
Washington Times

Expose the subversive activities of Islamist extremists around the world or in the United States and speedy CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) pops up with accusations of Islamophobia.

Before Abdurahman Alamoudi, a U.S. citizen and prominent leader of Washington's Muslim community confessed to a Libyan-funded assassination plot, CAIR denounced his detractors as Muslim bashers. CAIR suddenly fell silent when Alamoudi plea-bargained with the U.S. for a lighter sentence, in the range of a quarter-century, instead of life for his part in a Gadhafi plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah.

It would behoove CAIR to care more about an institutional memory called MEMRI (the Middle East Media Research Institute) and read or listen to what it plucks daily from Islam's air waves.

Recent samples:

- "I say to you the American people, according to the Koran ... your lives are lost, you will collapse, and America will collapse." (Friday sermon at Tehran University titled "America will collapse.")

- "The liberated Western woman works more with her breasts than with her hands, dancing in brothels. ... Where are the lies about her liberation and the honor accorded her?" (Friday sermon in Medina, Saudi Arabia.)

- "From the day civil strife began in Islam, the Jews were behind it. There is no evil in the world that the Jews were not behind." (Saudi Sheikh Abd Al-Qader Hammad's sermon titled "A Muslim is not allowed to open his heart to the enemy of Allah.")

- "The Jews are behind all moral corruption and perverse thinking. This is a putrid history whose stench is sickening." (Friday sermon in Bahrain titled "Treachery runs in the Jews' blood.")

- "Why do your brethren want to perform martyrdom operations? Why are there so many martyrs among us? Because we are a nation graved with Allah's mercy. Because with every Shahid (martyrdom operation), Allah saves 70 of his family members who had been destined for the fires of hell." (Sheikh Abu Hamza Al-Masri in Jordan.)

- "The Jews in France go back to the history of the Holocaust and Auschwitz and use these events to gain sympathy. But the magic of these events is gone." (Day of Solidarity with Al-Manar TV titled, "Yes, Our Discourse Is Anti-Semitic.")

- "Bush's crimes are a direct continuation of Hitler's genocide. By controlling and censoring the news about the war in Iraq, the U.S. prevented the publication of information regarding its chemical and biological bombardment of Iraq." (Iranian TV news commentary.)
Pakistan, promoted major non-NATO ally (MNA) by the Bush Administration, has an Urdu-language press that also oozes venom daily:

- "Allah has told us to make atom bombs. America is telling us not to. Who should we listen to O Muslims, Allah or America? Jihad, jihad, jihad is the answer." (Mohammed Ishaq, one of leaders of MMA, six-party politico-religious coalition.)

- "I have come here because my duty is to tell you that Muslims should not rest in peace until we have destroyed America and India." (Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, chief of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, at Jamia Ghousia mosque, Rawalpindi.)

- "We pray Iraqis will continue to resist American tyranny and terror and we believe victory will come to them. ... The invasion was motivated by U.S. designs to grab the oil of the Iraqi people and enslave them." (Masood Azhar, chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad.)

- "We have the nuclear capability that can destroy ... Tel Aviv. Washington cannot stop suicidal attacks. Taliban are still alive and with their friends they will continue the holy war against the U.S." (Qazi Hussain Ahmed, president MMA, Islamabad.)

- "There are thousands ready to go to for Jihad but they are waiting for a request from Taliban. ... Musharraf is playing the role of an informer of the U.S., and Islam declares the death penalty on such people." (Senator Sami ul-Haq, MMA vice-president).

- "The real war has just started. After Palestine and Afghanistan, Iraq will now give birth to more holy warriors. Who will free me from the clutches of Jews?" (Joint statement by Jaish-e-Mohammad, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Jamiat-ul-Mujahideen.)
In most parts of the Muslim world, the war against global terrorism is viewed as a U.S.-Israel crusade, engineered by an alliance of neoconservatives and the Christian Right, against Islam and the Muslims. Pictures and video of dead women and children during the siege of Fallujah, the Abu Ghraib prison pictures of U.S. Army guards humiliating Iraqi inmates, U.S. troops firing at Iraqi insurgents from behind headstones in the huge Shi'ite cemetery in Najaf, or forcing Iraqi civilians to lie face down in the street, hands behind their necks — all have combined to a steady stream of hate-filled commentaries in Muslim newspapers and on Arab satellite TV channels.
With anti-U.S. feelings running high on Arab streets, Middle Eastern governments are reluctant to open the valves of reform lest newfound freedoms backfire against the regimes that initiate them. Reforms at this juncture could well promote the kind of radical elements they are intended to neutralize. Democracy, U.S.-style, has given reforms a bad name.

It is hard to escape the conclusion that Iraq, during the past 18 months, has been a force multiplier for the kind of Islamist extremism that breeds more, not fewer, recruits for transnational terrorism.

CAIR vs. the FBI (re: Shukrijumah - 2003)

In March of 2003, the Miami office of the FBI held a joint press conference with the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) concerning the FBI's search for suspected terrorist Adnan El Shukrijumah. According to the FBI, El Shukrijumah was "identified by senior members of the al-Qaeda organization as a very, very, very serious threat to the United States interests, both here and abroad."

Before the event, the FBI issued a press release, claiming CAIR had "approached the FBI and offered their assistance in reaching out to the Arab-American community to encourage them to provide any information they might have concerning El Shukrijumah and to address concerns within [sic.] community regarding hate crimes."

Three days later, CAIR issued its own press release. However, this one contradicted the FBI. CAIR's PR machine claimed that it was not CAIR that approached the FBI, but it was in fact the FBI that approached the radical Islamic group. The CAIR press release states, "The FBI approached us and sought our help." This may seem like an honest mistake to some, but when CAIR's concerned, honesty rarely factors in on the equation.

Exalting CAIR as "respected members within the Arab-American community," the FBI's press release noted its appreciation for CAIR's "efforts." But only a significantly small portion of CAIR's PR actually dealt with imploring anyone to come forward with information that would be helpful to the FBI's search. So it seems the only "effort" CAIR had tried to make was to seek to mask the problem and grant protection to the offender and his cohorts.

CAIR's press release started out by offering a hazy explanation of the Muslim community's supposedly complete rejection of terror. "Terrorism is antithetical to Islam...'If anyone slays a human being - unless it be (in punishment) for murder or for spreading corruption on earth - it shall be as though he had slain all mankind.'" How should one interpret "punishment" or "spreading corruption?" Certainly al-Qaeda would never lose such semantically challenged debates.

The PR charged FBI agents with the defense and upholding of El Shukrijumah's human rights "should they apprehend him." Naturally, CAIR mentioned nothing about the possible risk such a suspect posed to our nation's security, nor to the agents who will attempt to bring him to justice.

The press release then bestowed platitudes upon the family of El Shukrijumah, accolades most assuredly undeserved. It stated, "Adnan G. El Shukrijumah's family members have earned their respect from the South Florida community. They have contributed productively to this community."

Meanwhile, El Shukrijumah's mother - who was 16 and her husband 44, when she gave birth to Adnan - made herself an accessory to the (suspected) crime by admitting that she told her son that he should "stay away" and "stay put...we don't want to know where [you are]."

The terrorist connection of his father, Gulshair - an Islamic missionary sent to America from Saudi Arabia - is apparent. Despite his claim of feeling "sad, because I have done no wrong," Gulshair testified in a trial on behalf of fellow mosque-goer, terrorist Abdul Rasheed (a.k.a. Clement Hampton-El), who "was convicted of plotting to blow up the United Nations and the Holland Tunnel."

The impetus to go after Adnan El Shukrijumah came with the capture of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. Mohammed, who was the mastermind of the September 11th attacks, identified El Shukrijumah as being an al-Qaeda leader "on a par with Mohammed Atta, the top man on the 9/11 hijack team."

Once again, instead of condemning the terrorist, CAIR took the opportunity - as part of the significant "effort" the FBI praised them for undertaking - to defend Sheikh Mohammed. "Has he been deprived of sleep? Food? We have no idea, and they won't tell us what measures they have taken to elicit this information," said Altaf Ali, the Florida Director of CAIR.

The FBI's lauding of CAIR is reprehensible in itself, but CAIR's usage of a counter-terror event to advance their agenda of defending terrorists and terrorist suspects is yet another example of where CAIR's true loyalties lie - and yet again, they are not with CAIR's host country. While American authorities are trying to stop terrorism, groups such as CAIR are attempting to delay and sabotage the process. They are not partners, not patriots, not allies; they are a significant fifth column in the War on Islamofascist Terror.

The attacks, on targets such as Heathrow and the Parliament, were planned to coincide with similar strikes on major buildings in the US.

Praise God they were stopped! I only hope this arrest upsets their co-conspirators here in the US.

I'd bet that we could find deeper links between communism and islam. They all seem to play in the dirty end of the pool.

The local news station had a story about Lake of the Ozarks area law enforcement looking into recent reports of suspicious activity near Bagnell Dam. 2 men were spotted in a boat near the security barrier in the middle of the night.
