I was wearing this t-shirt in NYC this weekend and have been wearing it 2-3 times a week as I bike around the city:

I wore it to the sign painting event at the Farley post office in preparation for the GOP Convention. I had many positive comments, but many of the younger staffers were amazed and said I was brave to wear it. One female staffer said she expected me to be spat upon. I told them I have had only positive comments about it and that the ABB ypes are either tto stupid to understand it or are too embarassed by it's hard hitting truth.

I also said if more people were pro-active, there would not be this element of fear in displaying support for the President in even the most liberal of cities.

Congratulations!

Wish there were something we could do for Bush here in Texas, but a win for him here is such a foregone conclusion that our major difficulty will be getting folks out to vote at all, especially in counties (like Denton) so heavily Republican that there are no Dim candidates even running for the local offices.

"The Bush campaign and Karl Rove need to take notice that the ground campaign "

Ditto. I called my local Republican HQ to volunteer and got a recorded message asking me for my name/number as they will not be opening until the middle of August, meanwhile the Dem. HQ is running full steam.

The Republican Party, national level, has yet to get a clue. Same for the Republican Party in Ohio, and the Republican Party in Franklin County.

In Upper Arlington, Ohio, the Kerry signs on the front lawns, outnumber Bush signs by 20 to 1.

As with the 1996 and 1998 and 2000 elections, there is no money for grass roots use.

Instead, the "higher-ups" are spending the bulk of the money on "high end" video bites.

Thank you for doing more than the lot of them.

Freepers also need to be out there, taking chances and saying the things that need to be said.

Good for you!

However, one Bush supporter in particular said, "It is about time you guys did something". This sentiment was also expressed by numerous others.

What does that mean? Who are YOUR GUYS? Why didn't you ask him why HE isn't doing anything?

You are entitled to say this, since you made a brave stand. Thank you.

I lived in Dayton OH in the early 80's. Columbus isn't quite the leftist haven as other Great Lakes capitol cities, but its close. A 50/50 response for Bush in that portion of liberal OH is damn good.

Thank you for carrying the standard. The person with the "about time" comment, is the problem. Too many conservatives expect someone else to get out and do the dirty work.
Thanks for being the "plumber" for the rest of us on this occasion.

I got the same reaction at a Bush Cheney stick-a-thon. You stand on a busy street with signs and free bumper stickers. I was asked several times "where have you guys been?"

NEWSWEEK reports that President Bush, appearing before a right-to-life rally in Tampa, Florida on June 17, stated: 'We must always remember that all human beings begin life as a feces. A feces is a living being in the eyes of God, who has endowed that feces with all of the rights and God-given blessings of any other human being.'

The audience listened in disbelief as the President repeated his error at least a dozen times, before realizing that he had used the word 'feces' when he meant to say 'fetus'.

I received the above mass mailing from a well popular musician. I hit my 'reply all' button and send a brief note and a couple of sourced links proving the story was an urban legend.

Now this guy's entire mailing list know that the sender is not a credible source.

YOU did it! That's who SHOULD be doing it! You and all those folks wondering why the Bush campaign isn't doing something.

We don't need to wait for the 'Bush Campaign' to do it! They can't be everywhere, and don't know the opportunities we can identify in our own hometowns! WE ARE the Bush Campaign! We need to be his foot soldiers out here in the hustings!!

**"It is about time you guys did something" ***

Why "you guys" ?? Why not THAT "Bush supporter" ??

YOU showed initiative, but why does that "Bush supporter" assume it's up to some one else ??
