Oh, baloney. I've seen people throw out all sorts of numbers regarding that scenario. Jobs are being created. Period.

First the Rats tried to claim that George W. Bush brought about a recession, when in fact, the economic downturn began about a year before he took office.

When it was evident that an economic recovery was well underway, the Rats tried to claim "it was a jobless recovery".

When that didn't work, and it was apparent that thousands of new jobs were being added every month, the Rats Claimed "yeah, but they're low-paying jobs".

By the time election day gets here, I suspect they'll be saying the following: "Okay, the economy's in full recovery, and there are thousands and thousands of new jobs, and many of them are good paying jobs. But.....but..... we know a guy who knows someone whose cousin is dating a girl who knows a guy whose brother is out of a job, so Bush has been doing a lousy job with the economy".

I am looking to move up the ladder ( I am working now) and I have noticed that in the past two or three months the available jobs are getting fewer.

UE rate probably went down because the labor market got smaller.

If we were adding 200,000+ jobs, the UE rate might gone fractionally up, and that would be a good thing.

And the sad thing is that Kerry and the dems, who pretend to be the party that "cares" about the middle class, are doing a victory dance this morning and faxing out their talking points, thrilled that people aren't able to get jobs. Up until this number I really thought that Bush would pull away and win this thing relatively easily but I think this is a death blow to his chances.

The unemployment rate seems to lag (for whatever reason) the number of jobs created, by a couple of months.

It increased, for instance, back in the month where there were 300,000 jobs "created".

BTW, I've read where the real rate is around 9% if you count it the same way they counted in the 60s. They changed the way it was figured in the 90s.

10,000 of the jobs created were in manufacturing - that's HUGE news! Plus Unemployment went DOWN! A larger jobs number would have been nice, but I'll take this news any day.

Werent the economists expecting something like 200,000 new jobs? This is pathethic. Unless Bush has a great August he is cooked unless we get a terrorist attack to scramble the election (and Im not cheering for that).

For those who think we are at or near full employment, consider the fact that the Battleground States for the most part have above average unemployment rates. Maybe those of you in Wyoming who want a job can get a new high paying job in one day, that isnt necessarily the case in Ohio or Michigan where this election is going to be decided.

I was just listening to FOX and Friends and I thought they misspoke when they mentioned the numbers. I turned from my computer and there was Goby Smith [sp] with a sick look on his face and yes the numbers were correct. It's not good news however one wants to spin it. The experts were saying they expected 220,000 new jobs. And that will be repeated by the Rats and their allies in the Liberal media so if you want to put your head in the sand be my guest.

If Bush loses and JF'nK gets to raise taxes on US businesses, they have only themselves to blame. Hiring 32,000 in July means an average of 640 new hires PER STATE...just pathetic. This economy is going no where at this rate. The only thing that is up is oil prices.

It's nice to be optimistic but it also helps to be realistic as well. If you can put a positive spin on this you should call the RNC and go to work for them. Perception is reality, especially in a country where the population is getting dumber and dumber and is eaasily led around by the media. The negative spin on this is going to be tremendous and how do we refute that?
