32,000 jobs were created in July. The unemployment rate down at 5.5%
Details to come...
ouch
I've been noticing that phrase in the lamestream media for the last two months. ... In fact, now that I think about it a bit, I've been hearing it for the past two years.
As others have said in this thread, two words have made a big impact, illegal immigrants.
The labor force went up 580,000 last month, while the number of jobs went up 630,000. Just read the Labor Department news release. www.bls.gov
It better.....we have GOT to write the RNC and WH and urge them to please focus on that.
Something needs to be done.
I really didn't care about the oil issue until today. It is clearly a drag that needs to be addressed.

Karl Rove (have not found an e-mail, though you can try the forms above):
phone: 202-456-2369
fax: 202-456-0191
I did find an e-mail for this person in Rove's office though, Dave Thomas:

CBS top of the hour radio news is having multiple orgasms over this report.
I just don't understand people. The economy is growing, but much more slowly than any of us want to. Bush is doing a lot, the only thing he's not doing that he should is speak out.
But are the sheeple so stupid to think that voting for a liberal traitor is somehow going to help things by endiung the war on terror and raising taxes???????
Tell me that high energy prices don't effect business - I'm just a fool - a fool who has been self-employed for 10 years....yet I don't know anything about "bottom-lines" nor about energy prices -
Tell me that Addressing the nation over Stem Cell is more important then addressing the Nation during war (to set the record straight) or addressing the nation over the economy -
Come on, tell me that a sitting incumbent polling in the mid-40's continually in the horse-race numbers is just great - COme on, tell me GWB is sitting better then both Reagan and Clinton - Feed it to me.
See my post about contacting Rove's office and the RNC Communications office.
Something needs to be done.
How anyone thinks one month's numbers that are less positive than predicted, but still positive will 'sink' a strong presidency defies reason.
This election will be about security. The economy is strong, and will be so in November.
All this 'sky is falling' stuff is bunk. They should all stop griping and get out and work to make sure this President wins BIG in November.
They just might be. I fear that the liberal message is winning despite how strong the ecomony is growing.
And any appearance of a "slow down" will only strengthen their message. Being realistic, this is hurting Bush (even though we all know it shouldn't, but it is!)
I don't recall CBS news reporting the monthly jobs reports when they were good?
I am looking to move up the ladder ( I am working now) and I have noticed that in the past two or three months the available jobs are getting fewer. That would be the case if more people are working (the jobs were filled). I believe that there are more people who are employed than ever before, something like 139 million. From what you said it sounds like you would have opportunities to get a job if the need arose.
kerry just addressed what he would do, today(tax breaks for hybrid cars, LOL!).
Now that kerry has come out, Bush can now say that he has had an energy plan for 3 years and it has been bottled up by kerry in the Senate.
Kerry has put himself out there, now it is time for Bush to push his plan.
What we need is to resurrect Gabriel Heater and have him lead off every thread with, "And there's BAAAAAAD news tonight."
(For those of you who know of Heater, No I'm not old enough to have heard him.)
Oh come on OWF, it's no fun actually looking at facts and positions, while there can be a gloom and doom orgy to be had.
All FReepers need to email all these people.

I'm not.
The left has failed miserably in it's barrage of lies and attacks to sink this President.
This little blip sure isn't going to do it........even with help from you.
The Bush campaign knows what they are doing. Give some advice if you wish, just don't get chicken littlish.
1,870,000 by the Household Survey, which counts self-employed people and those employed at new businesses not surveyed by the Payroll survey.
http://data.bls.gov/servlet/SurveyOutputServlet
Since January of 2002, after 9/11 and the temporary shock to the economy, 3,955,000 jobs have been created according to the Household Survey.
"Come on, tell me that a sitting incumbent polling in the mid-40's continually in the horse-race numbers is just great"
I totally agree with you. I have been called a troll just for saying that Bush's campaign advertising could be alot better. People need to stop shouting eachother down and start listening to constructive criticism.
This really puzzles me though. The economy hasnt been creating jobs for 2 months, and yet the unemployment rate goes down. what's going on? Are less people looking to join the job-market?
