No, the best thing it can do is to bring out the party faithful and give Bush as shot at Illinois. Keyes will probably lose, but I don't think Illinois Democrats are enamored with Kerry, so they might take a pass on Kerry or even vote their pocket books and their security concerns and pull the lever for Bush.
Obama is a shoe in. But Bush can win Illinois if enough hard line conservatives turn out for Keyes.

I'm curious about why Alan would want to move to IL, put himself through this, and add another lost election to his record. Something tells me it's not just a process of throwing the assistance to Bush. There must be something about the lure of the stump and media attention, along with the ability to add to coffers.
