It's official! Yahoo!
Good post!
I believe operative expression is "Well, if you want to play that way...." There is nothing wrong with a person who opposes a changing the rules (written or unwritten) taking advantage of the rule change if it occurs despite his opposition.
I gave him money once... he didn't impress me. He's got talent, but does he have the discipline to put something together that's greater than himself? I am still waiting.
Barthwell may well be a rino but one thing she isn't is a "him"
Right. So let's get this in order:
The GOP wants Keyes to run;
the President wants Keyes to run;
JR wants Keyes to run;
Howlin, Iwo, Nopardons, and Luis don't want Keyes to run.
Tell me who's being disloyal, again?
I was being sarcastic.
The latest great black hope is same as the old boss.
All class envy and race victimization. 95% of blacks will love him.
I loathe what I have seen of him.
I hope Keyes at least makes him earn that seat and spend $$$$
That depends on what your definition of "kaleidescope" is.
Don't tell me, you're what passes for "wit" around here, right?
I like Keyes fine; it's his supporters who are the big pains in the butt; most of them are very condescending; sort like you.
There are a lot of candidates I could have supported. The strongest homegrown candidate would probably have been Steve Rauchenberger, who would have stepped in if the national party would have committed some money. But again, if we're assuming a loss (and it's clear that the national and state party both are), why not look for fresh talent who may not even be on your or my radar? Why not bring someone along to be in strong position to beat Durbin or Blagojavich in 2006? I just don't see how bringing Keyes in is going to improve the sorry state of the Illinois party. Indeed, I can see this hurting their already shabby reputation considerably.
A decent showing in liberal Maryland. Its about fighting for our ideas and in the long run they matter more than if we keep a particular seat. I don't think we just want to hold power for its own sake as the Left does.
I understand your anger and empathize. However, one has to make lemons out of lemonade. Keyes, if he does well in your state (even if he doesn't win) could revitalize the party. There's a large number of states that would give their right arm to get Alan Keyes there and active.
Actually, I left Idaho after the primary. I've been working in WV since.
This state is on fire for Republicans.
The President, I believe, is going to win by ten points.
And for the first time since before the Depression, there are more R)s on the ticket than D)s. Every statewide and legislative race has a Republican candidate.
Huge improvement over even two years ago. We are working to make the precinct organizations for the GOP deeper and stronger than ever. The Bush campaign, the Warner gubernatorial campaign, the RNC and Victory are all putting more resources in here than ever before.
And the RAT votebuying has been exposed. Some inditements have already come down, and more will happen after November.
Many are going to be shocked at the change in the Mountain State after this election.
I wouldn't miss it!
Ping me when you talk about me.
I want him to run; I'm enjoying watching all of you all twist your principles trying to justify him going back on what he said about Hillary.
It was made when Hillary ran for the Senate,NOT today.
Why don't YOU know what he said back then? Were you off his payroll?Aren't YOU THE Keyes "expert"?
I'm not pining. I'm hoping that there's still a chance to undo this mistake before it damages the party and its future even more. This is about more than one race and one candidate.
LOL. You two are hardly victims.
But this imaginary candidate is not on anyone's radar, how do you know he even exists?
Instead of pining for the perfect imaginary candidate, let's focus on suggesting a real alternative if you don't like the decision to go with Keyes. Come up with a guy and make the case that he would be better than Keyes.
My goodness, Obama might start recruiting volunteers from this thread, lol!
