I know DoughtyOne has a ton of stuff to put up regarding our trip but the natives are restless and all of us want to share our incredible experiences and pictures! There are so many FReepers to thank for making the day such a success. We probably had 50 to 60 FReepers and friends at our peak. I'd like to start off with thanking Hi Heels for putting together breakfast at Marie Callenders and especially the beautiful graveside memorial for President Reagan. Hi Heels had a P.A. system that she brought in; a beautiful printed program; and an incredible service. Bob J. welcomed everyone, Diotima read a poem, Doug from Upland had a tribute to President Reagan that he shared; Admiral pbear8 sang a solo; Captain pbear8 played the bagpipes. Hi Heels had a very appropriate service and benediction that was appreciated by all FReepers and the general public that was gathered around. Admiral pbear8 was kind enough to make special patriotic ribbons for all of us to wear - which made it very easy to find people when it was time to round everyone up!
We all caravaned over to my ranchero for a fine BBQ and party. Viet-Boat-Rider immediately stepped up to the plate and starting cooking up massive amounts of vittles; Doddlelady set up her easel and starting sketching freepers, Hangfire and PeoplesRepublic_of_LA started jamming on guitars and singing, and the FReepers kept arriving!
We had live music entertainment by the CaterWailers (bluegrass, sea shanties, folk); and of course, non-stop talking, laughing and teasing.
It was an honor to have Jim Robinson and family as a guest in my home and it was a beautiful thing to have all you FReepers here. Thanks Jim Robinson for making the day possible!
Thanks D1, it was great to see you and Dtoo again, sorry we couldn't stay for the BBQ. And thanks again, that picture of Ironclad and I with JimRob is worth gold to us. Cheers, I owe you a drink!
Thanks for the great link Mark. I appreciate it.
Your pics are a photo album to cherish.
Thank you, Doughty. My family members
were able to see RWR's Library and my FR friends,
thru your camera lens. Just absolutely fabulous.
Has Jim been pinged to post #165?
I reckon he has now. LOL!
Hi Jim. :)
Katie,
Sorry for the delay in thanking you for your major effort in arranging the tour, organizing the event and your hospitably.
The tremendous success of this event is the testament to your skills no wonder you were selected by county GOP.
My wife and I truly enjoyed meeting you as well as all the other Freepers.
We defiantly need to do this again.
Once again thank you.
Thanks! Just call me really anal retentive! All my kids friends are so glad I'm not their mother.
Thank you for your efforts in putting together the moving ceremony.
I only have one thing to say.
WOW
Thanks
I guess that's two things LOL
If I said Ditto....and you replied....we could keep this going forEVER!!!!
LOL!!!
Thanks so much for the ping. I have so enjoyed reading all about the event and looking at all the FReepers.
You're welcome :o)
This was Beautifully done. After this event, I know what Rabid means when she says "herding cats". Happy cats, though.
Breathtaking beautiful shot, DoughtyOne. Thank you!
The lovely pictures that you did of Captain PBear8 and me have been framed and hung up! Everyone at the art store who saw the pictures commented on them. I told them about the very nice lady who did portraits of so many people at the BBQ!
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful gift with all of us! Admiral PBear8
It was a total pleasure.
Thank you for being so patient.
That is really something.
You're a most talented photographer.
I had forgotten to ping you to the pics of the Library trip.
See #165.
Should have had its own thread.
Doughty1's pics are better than those sold at the Library!
