After the wonderful Reagan Library trip yesterday, a caravan of FReepers headed for Rabid Dog's house for a FReeper party. We all enjoyed the great hospitality.
On the 101 FReeway heading to the party I encountered a jerk in a tan Ford F150. I will give you part of his license plate: _E6478_. I would like to give the entire thing but JimRob probably wouldn't want that.
As some of you know, I have magnetic stickers on my car so they can be removed when I park. We on the right worry about the angry whackjobs on the left doing damage to our vehicles.
Two of the signs have angered only a few motorists. The two that get to them are fairly large. One says -- NEVER TRUST DEMOCRATS WITH NATIONAL SECURITY; the other says NEWS BULLETIN: AL QAEDA SUPPORTS KERRY (duh). Most of the time I get a thumbs up. Mrs. DFU coined the phrase: Hey, you've been thumbed up.
In this case, it was no thumbs up. A real jerk slowed down next to me from the fast lane and stayed just far enough in front of me to make sure I made eye contact. He had a boy of about 12 and girl of about 9 in the truck. They both did the same thing that John Kerry did to the Vietnam vet recently who told Kerry he had no business at the Vietnam Memorial. Yep, both little cherubs flipped me off.
Their dad laughed and was really proud of his children. I simply gave them a salute. When my children were small, I would never have given any thought to having them flip someone off. Had they done it on their own, they would have been grounded or worse.
What is wrong with those on the other side? Not all, but many of them are truly disgusting human beings.
I don't know, but part of what is wrong with public schools is that children raised by people like this attend them.
No doubt. Add a pocket Constitution from the CATO Inst. and a Bible or Christian magazine in the car and you'll fit the FBI profile of "domestic terrorist."
fingering the wrong person, will get you in trouble. but it should still be allowed... as a speech issue...
No question of disallowing it here. It's not the same as desecrating the American flag IMO. But you are quite right about crossing the 'wrong person.' Out west, at least, a lot of Harley type bikers are quite conservative politically. It wouldn't be too strange to see a Bush/Cheney sticker on one of their four wheeled rides. Guys like that often have a low tolerance for disrespect and a rather unPC concept of how to respond to it.
The part I find ironic is that black voters, especially, are voting themselves back to the plantation. You would think that of all peoples, they would see the inherent dangers in this "free" lunch, but I guess not. Puzzling.
FGS
Shocking...that they could read.
I want "My President Kicks Ass" on one side and "Big Time" on the other, with my W-04 oval in the middle. There's some great stuff at georgewbush.com, too.
Oh yeah, and property damage is perfectly acceptable civil disobedience if you infuriate an ignorant crusader with a cause - after all, it's your own fault, doncha know!
Martin, it is bound to happen. I challenged my local newspaper to set up a hidden camera near a car favoring Bush. Not mine, of course. It is only a matter of time before the left will do this stuff. Get magnetic stickers. Like the 14 I have on my car.
A DNC office is a bit too obvious. I'd say a health food store or something...
