"The morning update. News reports are identifying the "package" as "some sort of construction device". Both articles I have read in the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times report details contrary to what I heard police and fire officials comminicate via their radios. I heard on both police and fire channels that the case was not able to be x-rayed, yet the reports say they determined what it was through x-rays. Also, the reported times of the incident don't match with the actual times of occurence.
"I am a long time listener to police/fire scanner radio, and the activity around this incident was unlike any I have heard before. I think someone had a neuralizer (Men In Black) in use on the crowd...

Construction equipment could be an isotope source used to "X-Ray" weldments on the job site. That would explain any lead shielding.
Thank you and everyone else for the follow-ups on last nights odd suitcase story. Sounds like it could have been a Troxler type density meter used in construction which is radioactive and is shielded, but they are rarely thrown out of car windows. Odd story to say the least. Going to try and catch up. I see there were some large fish kills off the East coast, any consensus here at TM about it yet?
We are so used to stories being covered up or buried here at TM. Then it is Daley Town we are dealing with and it was a non-story today all our local channels. Then from the scanner they went to a silent channel. IMO it is one of those stories the soups thought it best to cover-up and that is truly what it is, I did alot of research last night here somewhere on the fact it is close to the old Komisky Pk , a mosque is headquartered two blocks away, Operation Push wasn't that far from it. As many things in post 911, there are cover-ups galore!
Okay ... but ... what construction equipment consists of liguid continer with wires coming out of it, enwrapped by X ray proof casing .... ?!?!?!?!
Oh, well. Silly me! I STILL can't figure out why the Iraqi's would put PESTICIDES in warheads!
