As I was reading the latest news stories this morning, I saw the headline didn't bother to read it thinking it was about the woman they caught last week. Sure seems like we're making progress.
They also have to realize that in order to be effective they have to take out at least two, possibly three planes plus in the same time frame. One or two would easily be explained away by the authorities. Engine failure, communications failure--whatever they could think of.
If just one plane crashed into the towers on the morning of 9/11, I would almost guarantee there would be no war on terror at this moment and anyone who thought it was an act of terrorism would be designated to the internet, conspiracy whacko category.
It would paralyse the airline industry. The shock to the system and people's psyches would be immense.
And firing a missile into a refinery or petroleum storage tanks.......

Maybe someday we'll get the truth about TWA 800...not to mention a few other "accidents".
In light of the missiles used against the cargo plane in Baghdad, and the one fired at the Israeli flight out of Africa last year, it's a wonder more of this isn't going on.

I've read various ranges on these -- after TWA 800, there were claims that the plane was too high, but then it was shown that missiles could certainly have gotten it at I think it was 10000 to 12000 feet.
Now there are longer ranges for these things, I believe.
No expert here at all. Just what I've read. Will wait for those who know this stuff.
