WHITE HOUSE ANGER AT HOLLYWOOD ELECTION SURPRISE: PARAMOUNT PUPPET MOVIE MOCKS TERROR WAR
The Drudge Report ^ | August 01, 2004 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 08/01/2004 5:59:11 PM PDT by O.C. - Old Cracker

A new film set for release from PARAMOUNT has raised the pop culture threat levels at the White House -- a film which mocks the war on terror and media urgency using puppets, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"I really do not think terrorism is funny, and I would suggest PARAMOUNT give respect to those fighting and sacrificing to keep America safe," a senior Bush adviser told the DRUDGE REPORT this weekend.

The new fuss film TEAM AMERICA, set for release two weeks before the November presidential election, is entering post-production from with SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone

A deep voice using serious tones opens the film's teaser: "We live in a time of unparalleled danger. Weapons of Mass Destruction are being offered to terrorists all over the world. Global chaos is about to consume every country on Earth. And there is only one hope for humanity."

The senior Bush adviser, who asked not to be named, fumed after seeing the movie's official website and trailer.

"This is just unconscionable. Not funny. And I believe it makes fun of everyone in law enforcement... and in the armed services who work tirelessly to keep us safe from harm."

Marionette puppets are used throughout the film to mock terror threats, and media figures who dominate the nation's airwaves.

Those guys are about as funny as that moron Tom Green (career in the toilet, I guess), who had a show where he would do stuff like stand in line at a grocery checkout and flatulate.

The dimwits like it, though.

I saw the trailer and it could be very good. I'm reserving judgement.

There will be a terrorist attack between now and two weeks before this movie is scheduled to be released.

The movie will then be shelved until a later time, and the these socialist anti-American lowlifes will look like idiots.

You heard it here first--saved to disk for future use.

Were you one of the Freepers confidently predicting that Hillary would emerge from the convention as the Democratic candidate?

The adults have to continue to tolerate the bad behavior in hopes that one day the punks will grow up.

The punks, on the other hand, remind themselves that someday the old bluenoses will go the way of the dinosaurs.

That's an insult as Tom Green was as stale and lame as Jean Francoise Kerre.

A better comparison would be what the "Jackass" team did in the plumbing supply store. >:)

Well, OC, you might find it ot be filth, but the old stodgy, uptight, no fun, 3 piece suit conservatives are not the future of the republican party or conservatism. It is us younger people who actually have a sense of humor and enjoy ourselves.

South Park Republicans are a powerful force

Actually, some "South Park Republicans" will wear 3 piece suits when appropriate.

I would call the prudes and cultural collectivists the "Leisure Suit Republicans". Ronald Reagan made them irrelevant, but they keep trying....like a really slimy 70s throwback in a bar trying to pick up the 20something ladies.

"We're maing fun of terrorists, not terrorism, we've done this on South Park since the Osama episode.
Since the movie, really. Rumor has it that Sadam blew his stack when he found out he had been portayed as Satan's gay lover in hell.

Gee ol' Bugs and Daffy made fun of the Germans and Japanese and they killed a whole lot more than 3,000 people. The US of A kind of liked the humor, sort of good for morale. What's different now other than some here lack a sense of humor.
Making fun of our enemies....be they fat and stained with mustard or bearded and stained with camel poop*....is a time honored American tradition that has always infuriated said enemies more than any possible propaganda ever could.

if everyone thought like OC, Bush wouldn't get 5%. My 72yr old mom loves South Park. My nephews and many of their friends love South Park, and THEY all love how it rips the liberals all the time. If everyone at Free Republic understood how perfectly they skewer the left they would be fans too. Phantom, you are correct, they are the only TV show that properly exposes the left. They do it relentlessly and brilliantly. It is a shame freepers don't spend time getting into South Park. Yes, at times they are crude, but the definitely attack liberal IDEAS and I have no doubt it influences many young people to be conservative and not Liberal.

This film will definitely be reviled by the left. Matt and Trey definitely despise Liberals; they said so in interviews. They skewer Liberals as good as Rush .

Better than Rush. They are freer with the language because they are on cable, plus you get the visual aide. Ms. Information and her store would have been less funny and less effective without seeing it.

Rob Reiner buttering himself up to get through the car door was 100% visual.

Janet Reno Easter Bunny.

The examples are endless.

After seeing the trailer it looks like it could be very funny. I think we need to know more. Sounds like Bush could be putting his foot in his mouth on this one.
