WHITE HOUSE ANGER AT HOLLYWOOD ELECTION SURPRISE: PARAMOUNT PUPPET MOVIE MOCKS TERROR WAR
The Drudge Report ^ | August 01, 2004 | Matt Drudge

A new film set for release from PARAMOUNT has raised the pop culture threat levels at the White House -- a film which mocks the war on terror and media urgency using puppets, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"I really do not think terrorism is funny, and I would suggest PARAMOUNT give respect to those fighting and sacrificing to keep America safe," a senior Bush adviser told the DRUDGE REPORT this weekend.

The new fuss film TEAM AMERICA, set for release two weeks before the November presidential election, is entering post-production from with SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone

A deep voice using serious tones opens the film's teaser: "We live in a time of unparalleled danger. Weapons of Mass Destruction are being offered to terrorists all over the world. Global chaos is about to consume every country on Earth. And there is only one hope for humanity."

The senior Bush adviser, who asked not to be named, fumed after seeing the movie's official website and trailer.

"This is just unconscionable. Not funny. And I believe it makes fun of everyone in law enforcement... and in the armed services who work tirelessly to keep us safe from harm."

Marionette puppets are used throughout the film to mock terror threats, and media figures who dominate the nation's airwaves.

I love South Park, but I predict this piece of trash will go down as well as their complete failures "That's My Bush" and "Baseketball".

This criticism is silly. From what I've heard this film SKEWERS the anti-war Left.

Doesn't matter. Terrorism is not a punch line.

As I understand it, they are Republicans.

You understand incorrectly. They're neither Democrat nor Republican, and lean strongly Libertarian.

Hope so, not only will Bush win but more important to every American is that he will finally have a public mandate. Watch out Syria, Iran, N. Korea and of course, HOLLYWOOD.

They are Republicans actually. If you watch South Park, it does have some conservative leanings.

SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone Little surprise. These punks create nothing but trash.

I disagree. South Park may be crude, rude, and irreverant, but it's hilarious and eviscerates liberal causes more effectively than the RNC. The White House should lay low until they've read the entire screen play.

They produce filth. If they are Republicans, they have an odd way of showing it.

Southpark is brillant satire and mocks left-wing ideas and people non-stop. I don't know why you would call it filth.

You lighten up. If you had a son fighting in Iraq or someone killed on 9/11 how funny would this kind of garbage be? These South Park punks have also mocked Jesus Christ. They are punks and anyone who appreciates their brand of humor is a punk. That's not opinion, that is fact. It's punk humor for all the punks in the GenX crowd.

I think you are right.... If you look at the trailer you see the names of hollywood lib stars fling in graphically as if they are the stars of this movie... but no they are going to be pissed...

Everyone look at the trailer before you make judgement...

Actually, Matt Stone is a Libertarian, and Trey Parker is a Republican.

The most remarkable head sculpts belong to the other bad guys in the film. “Actually,” said Trey, “they’re not bad. They’re just really really stupid and misguided.” They’re an organization of Hollywood liberals who are determined to stop Team America from interfering in the affairs of international politics. Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, and a permanently mustard-stained Michael Moore are just a few of the celebrities who are going to feel well and truly roasted when they see this film. Even seeing the heads without the film’s puppeteers bringing them to life, they are frighteningly accurate and bitingly funny.

This article is horrible. And the White House is wrong on this. This movie is SUPPORTIVE of President Bush, mocks the hollywood left, and the Michale Moore puppet is perpetually mustard stained.

This movie is going to be great!

And as far as Trey and Matt creating trash, South Park is the ONLY show on television that skewers the left and mocks their beliefs the way they should be mocked.

I got dibs on "More than Fahrenheit 911 and less than Passion of the Christ" in the betting pool.

Saw the preview. I think people need to have a sense of humor. It didn't seem like a hit piece like Michael Moore's was. It was mocking everyone.

I would actually call the libertarians more than conservatives.

And I agree, they are anti-organized religion (not necessarily anti-religion).

They do seem to see through the BS the libs put out.

I cannot hate them --- anyone who reveals that Barabara Streisand is, in reality, a huge monster bent on world destruction and domination has to be partially OK.
