WHITE HOUSE ANGER AT HOLLYWOOD ELECTION SURPRISE: PARAMOUNT PUPPET MOVIE MOCKS TERROR WAR
The Drudge Report ^ | August 01, 2004 | Matt Drudge

Posted on 08/01/2004 5:59:11 PM PDT by O.C. - Old Cracker

A new film set for release from PARAMOUNT has raised the pop culture threat levels at the White House -- a film which mocks the war on terror and media urgency using puppets, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"I really do not think terrorism is funny, and I would suggest PARAMOUNT give respect to those fighting and sacrificing to keep America safe," a senior Bush adviser told the DRUDGE REPORT this weekend.

The new fuss film TEAM AMERICA, set for release two weeks before the November presidential election, is entering post-production from with SOUTH PARK creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone

A deep voice using serious tones opens the film's teaser: "We live in a time of unparalleled danger. Weapons of Mass Destruction are being offered to terrorists all over the world. Global chaos is about to consume every country on Earth. And there is only one hope for humanity."

The senior Bush adviser, who asked not to be named, fumed after seeing the movie's official website and trailer.

"This is just unconscionable. Not funny. And I believe it makes fun of everyone in law enforcement... and in the armed services who work tirelessly to keep us safe from harm."

Marionette puppets are used throughout the film to mock terror threats, and media figures who dominate the nation's airwaves.

and the these socialist anti-American lowlifes will look like idiots.

You either have no idea what the hell you are talking about, or you are referring to persons other than Matt and Trey. Which is it?

A lot of people in this country DON'T think this "terrorism stuff" is a big joke.

I think that's going to be the point of the movie, that the media types don't take it seriously.

These South Park guys really bash on liberal media and Hollyweird types. It might be a good antidote to the MTV efforts to encourage the youth vote for Dims.

My guess is this story unfolded this way:

Reporters were mixing with some admin security-related officials today (or maybe yesterday) about the new terror alerts. At some point the discussions settled down into small talk, this movie came up, and the official, probably already running on little sleep and heavy adrenalin and high sensitivity, was ticked to hear there was a comedy comming out spoofing terrorism, without being fully informed about the creators' history and viewpoints. Reporter recognizes an opportunity to get a story out of nothing and milks it.

But I'd prefer to think that someone is simply placing some on-the-record distance from the film and then going to sit back and enjoy the wailing of the left.

They are punks and anyone who appreciates their brand of humor is a punk.

You are entitled to your opinion, but you are wrong.

I am a proud South Park Republican and a Republican Lounge Lizard.

I just saw the trailor too, but it was moving so quickly I couldn't make up my mind whether it was pro or anti war and Bush. I guess I'll just have to wait til someone goes to see it and tells it like it is. Then I'll decide whether to spend my money to go see it.

Well the name 'Pussy Velour' is already taken, she's racing in the Texas roller derby leagues.

"they're Klingons".

Speaking of Klingons, Do you know what "Star Trek & a roll of toilet tissue have in common?

They both circle Uranus looking for Klingons.

Was there a reason you left the last line from the Drudge article off your posting?

"But Parker and Stone save most of the mocking for left-wing pundits and Michael Moore."

I predict this piece of trash will go down as well as their complete failures "That's My Bush" and "Baseketball".

Yeah, but how about the classic "Orgazmo" about Mormon missionary porn stars fighting crime as superheroes?

How quickly we forget these film classics!

Maybe Old Cracker is a "Moore" documentarian.

Hey OC, I just check, Dewey is right. You selectively edited out the last line of Drudge's story. Any particular reason?

You have some explaining to do

I agree, one of the funniest episodes I saw was the one mocking the 2000 election results. When the kindergarten class had an election for class president. The loser started calling for a recount.

These "knee jerkers" always reach climax before the end of the article.
