A GrassrootsPA Exclusive from Sue Cirba of Pennsylvanians for Human Life in Scranton and The Pro-Life Reporter:
As John Kerry and John Edwards rounded the corner of Mulberry and North Washington Ave , Scranton, in two separate buses, they were greeted by about one hundred pro-life protesters.
On all four corners of the interscetion, pro-lifers were carrying signs like: Kerry-Edwards the RAW DEAL for unborn kids, STOP ABORTION NOW, and You cant be both Catholic and pro-abortion. Many protesters carried signs which identified Kerrys politics: Kerry is 100% Pro-Abortion, Kerry supports tax dollars for abortion, Kerry supports partial-birth abortion. Others carried Bush signs.
The afternoon was hot and humid, yet several brave souls took turns donning the Republican Flipper costume to remind voters how Kerry flip flops on issue after issue. On abortion Kerry, with an 100% pro-abortion voting record has the gall to say he believes life begins at conception.
Mary Ann McGuire and John Brzycki took turns in the teddy bear costume to remind the public that 43 million American children will never get to hold a teddy bear because they were aborted. Kerry/Edwards called their bus tour the Believe in America Tour, however it could more aptly be named the Make Believe America Tour Make Believe 43 million American woman havent been hurt by abortion. Tell that to the woman in our group who was punched in the stomach by a female Kerry supporter. The pro-lifer was so stunned by the attack that she did not have the presence of mind to call the police who were only one half block away. When it occurred to her, the woman who assaulted her was gone.
Make Believe abortion has not contributed to the breakup of millions of marriages. Make Believe the 43 million abortions performed since 1973 have not led to a harsher, more violent culture. Make Believe the 43 million babies killed by abortion are not missed by the families who would have adopted them. Make Believe the economic impact of the loss of 43 million children has not imperiled the future of social security, or resulted in the loss of jobs. Kerry in his speech on Courthouse Square lamented the loss of jobs for teachers! Look at your own record Mr. Kerry! Those aborted babies, if born, would have eventually gone to kindergarten, grade school, high school and then college but Kerry and NEA havent figured that out.
As I watched the coverage on local, then national television, the pro-lifers seemed to disappear. We were shown on an early edition of the local news, then later we disappeared. The national news missed us entirely. These pictures have been posted as testimony to our presence. Pro-life people in other stops on the tour can expect the free speech zone to be blocks away from the Democrats who wish to create the illusion of a Lovefest between Kerry-Edwards and the American people. Were going to show them thats just Make-Believe America!
That's a lot of protesters for Scranton.
Too bad the wire services failed to report on this...
Look! One that got away.
If it wasn't for these protestors, he would have had another "sparse" crowd like he did when he left Boston.
The same paper, btw, reported that Bush's rally had 9,000 people.
Yikes! That poor child looks like TerAYzah's Mini-Me.
The right is finally starting to find its activist backbone.
This could be a damned fine election season.
I prefer the words....ABORTION STOPS A BEATING HEART.
Did Kerry wag his bony finger at them and try to dress them down? After all, don't they know who he is? I'll bet he demanded their names and political affiliations...
"My Mommy said you were a real man, and my Daddy said, "HOORAH"".
Bush had 2 little girls of his own so he knows how to relate to them! Wish he could have been my Dad. :)
Scranton was jam-packed yesterday with supporters, and in all honesty, there wasn't 100 protestors.
:) Thank God for our President Bush!
However, Madame Barbara Bush would be your grandmother, and it is said she runs a very tight ship.
