The suspect is said to be in a stolen car and has 5 warrant out for his arrest. They were unclear what the warrants are for. This happen 24 hours ago, the parents thought the guy missed the turn and would contact them, but he has not.

PEOPLE are so trusting of strangers. Never let your children get in car with a new friend. My prayers are with them, and praying for safe return. This is so sad.

Parents!!! Check out a video by Yellow Dyno called "Tricky People". They have two videos, one for younger kids, one for older. Our code word when my kids are away from me is "Tricky People" and that reminds them to be aware.

I only pray it's enough.

Does anyone know what happened with the step-grandfather abduction about a week ago? I think there were 4 children involved, and I only saw it that day on Fox, so I was hoping they made it back to their parents.

I was trying to explain to my daughter the other day why I don't let her have personalized items -- backpack, purse, etc., things with her whole first name. Gave her a scenario of sitting somewhere with her friends and some guy sees her name and says hello using her name, and saying "don't you remember me, I know your parents, my feelings are hurt that you don't remember me, by the way I saw your parents over there, I'll walk you over to them, yada yada." Her eyes got kinda big and I think she got it.

Good grief. My kids wouldn't get in the car with anyone without knowing from either me or their mother beforehand who was coming and that it was okay. Not best friends. Not grandparents. Not anyone. It may sound extreme, but once you start making exceptions for this and that, the kids may start figuring out exceptions on their own. One of the scariest things I've ever seen was a hidden camera showing just how many kids would willingly go with a stranger, even kids whose parents were sure theirs wouldn't.

This is horrible. May God see them safely home.

The children were in the car with the suspect with the parent's permission. The suspect had befriended them while camping and identified himself as a preacher. They were all traveling to the Priest Lake area when the suspect's car did not exit Interstate 90 with the others in Coeur d'Alene and is believed to have continued east bound with the children.
