Sen. Collins is making an opening statement. As slowly as she speaks, this will take a few days. (Senate Hearing on 9-11 Commission Report)

Don't let it get to you. :)

This is good. If the liberal news media had any serious credibility outside of fantasyland, their ratings would not be in the dumpster and they would not be bashing FoxNews (because it wouldn't be a threat).

Alabama greetings to you, too, by the way. My 83 year old mom is from Lillian. She met my dad there while he was stationed on the Perdido River bridge at the start of WWII. It's a beautiful state, but I cry every time I drive that road from Foley to Lillian, because I know my grandma's house is long gone from that red clay side road.

I would guess that this speech was a trial run for Middle America to see which lines are "Hot buttons" for response. I picked up on "defense of country" and "defense of marriage" as two that got standing o's.

Referring to him as "the Senator from Massachusetts" is giving him importance. That's not a good idea.

I disagree, what do people think of when you say "Senator from Massachusetts"? One word, Liberal. Ok, some may think of Ted Kennedy (although that connection is also desired) but for the most part people in MO are going to be thinking East Coast, Elitist, Liberal. It is very much on purpose he is using this pharase.

Don't let it get to you.

No fear there. I've had the old media's number for a very long time, so my expectations are never high, and that includes Fox these days.

I totally agree! He's fired up and ready to go. I needed to hear him after the past four days of drivel and bull#$@! coming from Boston.
I'm sure we'll hear a good portion of today's speech in his convention address.

Didn't they play a Van Hagar song at the end last night?
Interesting.

I think under Kerry's rules, you can get a Purple Heart for it...

Greetings back to you!

Sorry about your Grandma's house.

My GrandParents lived in the woods west of Cullman.
Their house has been moved and now a new house is sitting right in the same spot.

I see in my mind's eye, that old house and smell the biscuits and chicken cooking. She made a great garden and cooked out of that all summer long. Canned and froze a lot of veggies, for winter! I loved it!

Fresh cole slaw from her cabbage, was my favorite.

Oh, it's good to have memories!

I think it's hilarious that they played Wagner's Valkyrie theme. All I could think was Elmer Fudd singing "Kill the Wabbit, kill the Wabbit.."!
