I want an America that relies on its own ingenuity and innovation - not the Saudi royal family.
And our energy plan for a stronger America will invest in new technologies and alternative fuels and the cars of the future -- so that no young American in uniform will ever be held hostage to our dependence on oil from the Middle East.
Is this a good part of the "good speech?" If it is, can you tell me what he would actually do? Bush has a vulnerability here, which many republicans and Washington establishment types ignore at their peril. But is Kerry or any Dem actually proposing a viable solution? What does he mean by "alternate fuels?" Is this the same old solar power and windmills everywhere but off the Cape?
I worked for a company for 23 years and then they moved to Mexico. Most of the companies around here left, so I went back to college at the age of 56. Now, jobs are starting to come back and they also have decent pay, unless anything under $60K a year isn't enough. My d-i-l just got hired for $32K per year for a new company that is already expanding. I was offered a job after I get out of college. If you lose your job due to NAFTA, you can get free re-training or even college. Don't give up on yourself or else others will give up on you, too.

"Senator Kerry now has my vote! Not only that, but it takes me 12 days to reproduce and I am going to make a lot of babies before November!"
He and Julia Thorne, parents of Vanessa and Alexandra, were divorced. The "circumstance" of the annulment was he needed it to marry Tehrezza in the Catholic church. The definition of annulment is that the marriage never existed. Nice news for the kids. Nobody seems bothered.
Right. But the speech didn't specifically say that (at least what I heard). Instead, Kerry just used some sort of code language that not a lot of people outside the room would understand. He did that his whole speech. It was like a guy who dropping in-jokes.
I know someone who has serious, serious mental problems. He literally thinks that other people remember the exact same thing he remembers. He'll constantly reminisce about stuff you have no idea about. "Remember that time when I was 5 and I pooped in my pants?" "No. I met you when you were 23."
Anyway, Kerry's a lot like that guy, except Kerry's not as likeable. (Big Michael Moore fan, by the way).
This story is from the horse's mouth,so to speak, though it's second hand, because my daughter told it to me.
Sally Taylor was definitely a WILD CHILD! The summer she was all of 12,she lost her virginity and bedded ANY male she could. Her excuse? She hadn't gotten her period yet and wanted to have sex WITHOUT A CONDUM and not get preggers.
He doesn't have a real solution. It doesn't matter. He was telling them what they wanted to hear and they loved it.
Has anyone ever heard a Democrat in Congress, much less Kerry, actually propose some alternative form of energy that isn't marginal?
the truth kerry is not saying. The way kerry would help get france and germany back on board is by give them a way back into all the corruption of the oil for food.
Kerry would also allow oil to be priced in euros instead of dollars.
That last one alone would damage us right now.
Ditto that!
Darn right, Bush hasn't begun to attack. As for attacking hurting Bush, the opposite is true. The Dems cry like little girls no matter what Bush does. If he gives a speech and declares that he likes ice cream, the Dems will blame Bush for insulting ice cream, and demand that he apologize. They're going to cry no matter what, so let's really give them something to cry about.
Second place is first-place loser, and I don't want to lose to John F*ckn Kerry.
Its all generalities - he doesn't really get into specifics. That's why his speech doesn't leave an impression since you don't know where Kerry stands. He leaves himself room to flip flop later depending on which way the political weathervane is pointing.
I guess he used the Clinton hair stylist to wash away the gray! All about the image and ZERO substance.
They care about the election, but only the part where they hate George Bush. The part where they're supposed to like John Kerry isn't happening.
Instead of 30 second commercials, Kerry should run 5 second spots that just say "John Kerry - He's Not Bush". So far he hasn't taken one other position.
The secret to my success isnt' a postitive attitude. It is from having been raised in a christian farm family. Bottom line, you do what you have to to get by. Attitude has nothing to do with it. Life sucks. You still do what you have to - period. But you do it ethically, put your faith in God, and in a manner in which you are able to look at yourself in the mirror with a clean conscience every day, you do what you have to. How I feel about it is immaterial. The job must be done.
From this standpoint I take credit and blame for what I do and I lay credit and blame for what others do. And I have no compunction about being frank in defending myself or others against abuse. I stand up for what I believe in. And I defend my ground. Getting things done requires no less. Even if people trying to screw you wish to call it whining because they don't want others to listen and get any ideas.
But he's sticking to it and says that it's Bush by 54 to 40 something.
We inherited a Recesssion from the Silicon Bubble Birst, 9/11, corporate scandals (all created in the 90's), and had to fight the war on terror. Since then Bush's tax cuts have improved the economy which in turn adds businesses.
I was laid off in 2001 from Circuit City, which I'm sure has opened stores in foreign countries, but I know it wasn't all Bush's fault and I'm not depending soley on him to provide me another job.
LOL!!! All My Children Will Vote!!!
But since it's a moot point,I refuse to speculate.
