"Kerry never smiles.

America won't elect a president who never smiles."

He had a pretty good grin going in his oompa-loompa suit!

Maybe that pic will remind the public of what a "fun guy" he is. Tee-hee.

I'm listening to Jim Bohanan (sp?) - one of the first analysts is saying that one of the major effects of this speech will be to drive people closer to Nader.

I agree and posted same up the thread. The response from the delegates vis a vis strenghtening the military was abysmal. &0 % of the delegates are anti-war. Some of them their brethern will leave Kerry for NAder. In fact, I think Nader will get a bounce from the lunacrat convention.

Bush doesn't give 'em hell. He just tells the truth and it feels like hell.

Mara Liasson liked the salute at the beginning at the speech, she called it the memorable soundbite of the convention. And she meant it would be a good thing.

"Judy Woodruff just said that Kerry again skirted the last 29 years of his voting record. cnn is rocking right now"

LOL
Someones needs to send FNC a email telling them that CNN was more fair and balanced than they were when it came to analyzing Kerry's speech.

"Judy Woodruff just said that Kerry again skirted the last 29 years of his voting record."

He did indeed skirt it. And he also COMPLETELY LEFT OUT his ANTI WAR (in Vietnam) activision.

I doubt he's fooling anyone but himself.

Then I remembered college.

Wow! You Remember college? lol.. I'm impressed. I remember a couple of raids and a few parties and that's about it. ;-)

Fox didn't say positive, just Mara and Mort

Both Fred Barnes and Brit Hume had far more positive comments about the speech than negative ones.

I have seen three and heard one on the radio. You have to do "negative" ads to counter lies and point out weaknesses.

Kerry is just being a huge hypocrit by claiming not to have a negative campaign even though the main motivation is the hatred of Bush.

It's a bad issue for the GOP, no matter how you cut it. Outsourcing--is there a way to make it palatable?

A "negative ad" to a Democrat....is when the TRUTH is TOLD.

I miss the warmth of Mike Dukakis

As a tribute to his old boss, it looks like John Kerry is rotting from the head down.

Michael Barone nailed it.

The speech was horrible. He stole lines from a large number of Republicans including Abe Lincoln. He even adapted Howard Dean's line about the flag.

The only periods in this speech when he was passionate was when he BASHED the President. The only periods in this speech that didn't induce fatigue or laughter were when he became the anti-war radical that accused our soldiers of atrocity's in Vietnam. He received cheers when he bashed Our President, his administration, patriotism, and faith in GOD.

My only question is WHY did he wait till tonight to allow this message to come through? They restricted everyone was going "negative" then Kerry Flip flops again and does it himself!!!

Maybe it's his delivery, but it was totally forgettable.

I think it is going to be one of the most unforgetable speeches we'll ever see.
