Perfect!
Now when he tries to defend himself in court he won't be able to speak. For a man like Hussein, that would be a living hell.
AWESOME.

Everyone knew that Saddam would die before testifying..... There was never a doubt. Once the bushies got a hold of him he was as good as dead.

Actually what the fiberals will say is "See, had we left Hussein alone and not invaded, he would have died of ill health all by himself, making way for reform. Think of the lives that could have been saved!" Of course, the Phlegmocrats won't acknowledge that had Hussein been left in power and had died of natural causes, Uday and Qusay would still have been around to continue to wreak havoc in Iraq and elsewhere.

Saddam Hussein has suffered a stroke.Apparently the Democratic Convention coverage is wearing on him as well.
To: nycfan
This could overshadow the Dem Convention newswise. That's good.

The legions of lawyers who have swarmed to terrorists lately might have done them more harm than good. Now that we have to have trials for them, with full representation and press, it has become more economical to simply kill them secretly, after getting all possible information, than to go through all the circus crap.
One prime rule in staying alive is to limit the motivation for your death as much as possible.

Didn't Milosevic try this tack as well?
Last I heard, the kangaroo court had decided he was well enough to stand trial, but not well enough to act as his own lawyer.

This is all a conspiracy by the Bushies to siphon attention away from Kerry and the "Rat convention.

His lawyers say that the former Iraqi President might die before his full trial. Compared to what they'd have done to him after his inevitable conviction, he'd be getting off easy by checking out this way.

Of course it's all Bush/Cheney/Halliburton's fault. No surprises there.
