The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Australia and Italy have received warnings through a statement purportedly from militants linked to al Qaeda that demanded those countries withdraw troops from Iraq.

Yes this story has a degree of truth. There were probably
IMO parachutist, but we will probably never find out
anything more about them. It is a scary scenario.

Maybe they were caught and are now being questioned? I don't think anyone sees 4 parachutists by accident. How many other people saw them? Why is the media silent? I didn't think it was possible to shut the media up.

There was a manhole cover incident in Chicago months ago. Probably Jan or Feb.

It was at the corner of State and Randolph near the Borders book store. I've searched for an article and can't find one. I remember it though from a TV report with certainty.

Secret Service Detains Man During DNC Protests BOSTON -- With security tensions high as the Democratic National Convention kicks off, Secret Service officers wasted no time detaining a protester with a Middle-Eastern appearance during pre-convention demonstrations Sunday.

NewsCenter 5's Sonya Pfeiffer reported that anti-war and other protest groups marched from the Boston Common to the FleetCenter without incident until the Secret Service pulled the unidentified, bearded man out of the crowd while protesters shouted, "This is racist profiling. Let him go." When he refused to give his name, officers detained him until he agreed to let them photograph him. He was later released.

"We have assurances that if he gives a photograph, which -- he's not waiving his rights -- but if he gives a photograph then he'll walk out of here with us," said John Pavlos, another activist who said he was acting as the arrested man's attorney.

"The Secret Service was pretty clear that they observed him looking around. And I just want to say that, as you can see ... there were many people looking around down there. Why didn't they stop me? I had no credentials either," said Pavlos.

I can see the symbolism of an attack on Springfield, it is our Capitol but Peoria? Maye the red cross actually just simply needs help in these areas and we are being alarmist

Many of the sites listed by the Red Cross were towns located outside the area of the threat. If there is an incident in a large city, people will evacuate and some will start running out of gas about 50- 100 miles away.

JAMMU, India (Reuters) - Separatist rebels decapitated a 55-year-old man and his two children in Indian Kashmir because they suspected them of being informers for security forces, police said on Monday.
In another incident, separatists aimed a grenade at soldiers visiting a hospital in northern Kashmir, wounding 26 civilians and two soldiers. Police said the soldiers went to the government hospital in Baramulla for treatment.

"Militants lobbed a grenade near the outpatient department, where some Border Security Force personnel had come for treatment," a police officer said.

Authorities say the guerrillas could be trying to scupper peace moves between India and Pakistan by stepping up attacks on civilians and security forces in Kashmir.

More than 200 people have been killed this month in Indian Kashmir in a surge of violence that has coincided with the start of peace talks between India and Pakistan.

The two countries' foreign ministers held talks in Islamabad last week and renewed their vows to settle their differences over the disputed Himalayan region, divided since the Indian subcontinent won independence from Britain in 1947.

On Sunday, a group of nine militants barged into the home of Mohammed Shafi in a remote village in Rajouri district and beheaded him, a police officer said. They also killed his 22-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter, the officer said.

"The militants thought he worked for security forces in the area," he said. The village, in the rugged mountains of southern Jammu and Kashmir, is a five hour trek from the nearest road.

Militants fighting Indian rule in Kashmir have in the past killed men and women they believe to be working for the Indian army, along with their families, to deter others. (Additional reporting by Sheikh Mushtaq in SRINAGAR)

JAMMU, India (AP) - A 65-year-old man and his son and daughter were beheaded and his wife severely wounded in an overnight raid on a village in India's Jammu-Kashmir state by suspected Islamic militants, police said Monday.

Four assailants forced their way into the home of Mohammed Shafi, 65, before killing him, his 22-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter in Daraj village in the state's militancy-wracked Rajouri district, an officer at the local police control room said on condition of anonymity. The attackers also tried to behead Shafi's wife but she survived, and was in hospital in serious condition, police said.
