Al Qaeda-Linked Middle Eastern Men Infiltrating Via Southern Border, Using Fake Mexican ID, Names
John and Ken Show, KFI AM640, Los Angeles ^ | July 16, 2004 | John Jorsett (me)

Posted on 07/16/2004 5:51:28 PM PDT by John Jorsett

Congressman John Culberson (R - TX), speaking on the John and Ken show in Los Angeles, tells the hosts that he's now authorized, for the first time anywhere, to disclose that Middle Eastern men with Al Qaeda links have been mixing with the stream of illegal aliens coming in via the Southern US border. Having changed their names from Islamic to Hispanic ones, and having obtained authentic Mexican Matricula Consular ID cards using faked Mexican birth certificates, the men are paying up to $30,000 to obtain entry into the US among the flow of Hispanic illegal aliens crossing. They're choosing this path because the screening process the US is using on incoming airline passengers is becoming increasingly effective. Once in the US, these men are burrowing into small towns, posing as doctors, lawyers, CPAs, and other professional occupations which are scarce in these communities, making them more accepted and welcome. These "sleeper agents" then await activation for terrorist acts.

Culberson says he was informed of this by federal prosecutors in Texas (he gave the name of one of them, but I didn't write it down. I'm recording the show and will get the name when I play it back), and will have a letter with these facts in his hands on Tuesday. Culberson adds that he's also been told that an Al Qaeda attack before the November election is "100% certain."

I appreciate your post, but IMHO this is news like saying "Hillary is a Marxist" is news. I mean I'm glad sheeple are getting told this, but Good Lord Above, I've "known" viscerally for years that this is.

Anyway, whatever, America will get serious about our borders when we get serious about trying to live by the Rule of Law. In the meantime, we've got the best lawless socialist police state on the planet and I'm damn glad I'm here.

The "illegals" and anyone else who want's to come across the Mexico/Arizona border, just walk across the desert...there is nothing but a barbed wire fence, that they already made walkways through, and just walk on through...no border patrol, no custom agents, no one to even check if they speak spanish or not, if they are muslilm or not. It's just awful. Then to top it off, some church group has set up water stations in the desert, IN CASE THEY GET THIRSTY, ON THEIR ILLEGAL TRIP INTO OUR COUNTRY!!! The Border Patrol does all that it can and more, but there just aren't enough agents to handle the millions that are crossing into our country each year.

particularly for those of us living in little Texas towns

I would not be too worried about little towns. You can bet the terrorist bastards will be boot scooting on up to some big Texas cities so that they can get the maximum bang for their fanatical islamic buck.

"When it comes to illegals, the Democrats are in the camp of the enemy, and the Republicans hide under their desks."

Man, if this were not true, it would be funny.

Our government is certainly dropping the ball on this issue.

I agree, but I don't like the idea of terrorist living in our little towns. Plus there are some big targets in little towns.

The part I didn't like was

Culberson adds that he's also been told that an Al Qaeda attack before the November election is "100% certain."

Two years ago, an upper level official of the Mexican Government was indicted on smuggling charges...smuggling Middle Easterners into the US. I can't remember her name, but I certainly remember her crime!

My son and I just drove across the desert souithwest, and were stopped twice by the Border Patrol. I don't look in the least hispanic, but we were still asked questions about who were were and where we were going.

One thing I know from talking to the Border Patrol guys I work with is that the illegals meet up with transport once they cross the border. They're frequently driven by Americans, who get paid several hundred dollars to take them to cities. You were probably stopped to make sure you weren't one of those. I heard the story how one agent, who was off duty and in civvies, picked up a woman he had just seen leave a van by the side of the road. She claimed car trouble, but he knew she had just left a "load car" at a rendezvous point. Since he was off duty and didn't have any real proof anyway, he didn't arrest her, but he notified his BP colleagues of the drop point so they could wait and pounce when the illegals showed up. What was interesting to me was his use of the term "traitor" when he talked about her.

Our government knows about this stuff. They choose business interests over national security. They do NOTHING. They pretend to do something, but do nothing to stem the flow of illegals across our southern border. They're selling us out like they always do. That's why I'll be voting third party. It's the only chance to save this nation.

That would be Imelda Ortiz Abdala, Mexico's consul in Lebanon. The crime itself was in 2001, but she wasn't arrested until December of 2003. They nabbed her after one of the people she helped showed up in a San Diego hospital with what people thought might be radiation sickness.

Wall Street Journal Misses the Mark on Immigration Debate

June 28, 2004

If America cannot protect its borders, how can it ensure the security of the homeland? Wouldn't it be easier to stop terrorists before they enter the country rather than trying to track them down once they are already here? Earlier this month, a man said to be a sleeper agent for al Qaeda was arrested in New York. According to an ABC News report, the man told authorities that al Qaeda is planning more attacks within the United States. The man also revealed a scheme "to smuggle terrorists across the Mexican border."

Bush needs to send a squad of U.S. Army troops to the border immediately, while training more Border Patrol agents and working on a real border security plan in the long-term.

He doesn't care or he already would have done it. There's NO excuse for him not to have slammed the borders shut after 9/11, but since he didn't do it, he's going to be blamed for the next attack. Even if Kerry gets elected (God forbid).

OK; though in principle I don't like being stopped by gummint agents without cause, I make an exception for the Border Patrol. I thanked them for doing their job after we'd talked. We were so obviously two guys who'd been camping for days in the back of beyond, with beards to match, I doubt they were very interested.

What was interesting to me was his use of the term "traitor" when he talked about her.

I think that's an appropriate term. Good to see some of them, at least, have it figured out. :-)
