Is Cain a Democrat or a Republican?

We shall soon see -- go Cain!

They predicted in 2000 that Jeb Bush would lose... This was not a very prescient prediction, since Jeb Bush wasn't even up for re-election in 2000.

I don't agree. It will be Isakson and Collins in the runoff.

I think this would be a great development nationaly for the Republican party. Cain has a stellar record. See the clubforgrowth.com for more details.

Welcome to FreeRepublic.
May i make a request (or word of advice): not all of us are from Georgia. I'm from Virginia and I don't know who is running for what in other states, but I'm interested. I'm interested how the Conservative / Republican candidates are doing in both House and Senate races in those other states.
So, please write out the whole name and party for us in other states. For example, when I write about my Senators: Senator John Warner (R-VA) and Senator George Allen (R-VA), or Congressman, Representative Virgil Goode (R-VA 5th dist.), I write them out for those in other states not familiar with Virginia.
Bottom line: I'm as interested as you are, but I'm out of the "Georgia loop", so I don't know how to reply or whether to be encouraged or discouraged...

Thanks. Having Cain (or Collins) in the Senate would be wonderful. Its a shame they are working against each other. IMHO, one of them, (prefably Collins, because Cain is more conservative and seems to be doing better in the polls) should drop out.

Thank you for the inside info. I hope you are right. I just came from a Cain event in Bibb county which had about 50 people. It was a good turnout for a weekday afternoon and the local news was there.
I think Cain will have good numbers in Middle GA. Bibb Republicans seem evenly divided among 1)Cain supporters; 2)traditional, country club republicans who don't pay attention to politics and vote for who they've heard of before (thus Isakson); 3)and Collins supporters who are conservative but will never vote for a black person. (I don't mean this to be inflammatory, I just think this is how it is), This last group may be the "silent majority", considering I have only seen 1 Collins sign in Bibb. But signs don't win elections.

I don't know anything about either Isakson or Collins...but on a national level, the party could use a Herman Cain.

If this is the same person I'm thinking of, why isn't he a featured speaker at the GOP convention? That would be a nice counterweight to Barack Obama at the Democrat convention.

Thanks for the good news. My teenage son just came back from Turner Field and said there were about 20 Cain supporters, mostly teenagers, handing out flyers before the Braves game. He said they were getting a great response.
Cain has organized a great grassroots campaign. I've never worked on a campaign before, but so far I've put up 150 Cain yard signs mostly on the south side of Atlanta trying to reach black voters. A Cain victory would be the Democrats worse nightmare.

Herman Cain would be a fantastic senator. That would giive Georgia the best Senate combination in the country.

Thanks for the report.
Go Herman!
