Slim-Fast is starting to buckle under $1.2 BILLION dollars of pressure!

The weight loss giant is apparently reacting to a huge backlash from consumers, and worried investors, after their spokesperson, Whoopi Goldberg, lobbed vulgar obscenities at President Bush this weekend. John Kerry failed to condemn those attacks supposedly because the event brought in $7.5 Million for the Democrats. Instead, Kerry praised the celebrities for conveying "the heart and soul of our country."

The parent company, Unilever [trading symbol UN] was referring all correspondence and complaints about Goldberg's hate-speech, to Slim-Fast's marketing dept. A great many angry conservatives also reported, their successes in reaching sympathetic ears at Slim-Fast: (I just received a call from Slimfast), and (Goodbye Slimfast!).

Wall Street has noticed, as Neil Cavuto reported yesterday; the 2% drop in Unilever's stock price Tuesday was attributed a new Conservative boycott of its subsidiary Slim-Fast.

That amounts to a one-day LOSS of $1.2 BILLION dollars for shareholders!

Unilever has a great deal to lose, as it's stock has a market value of 61B, and sells a great many well-known consumer products; some of which are...

Anyone may comment online to Slim-Fast for their continuing use of Whoopi Goldberg as their advertising spokesperson.

Uh oh. I gotta give up Best Foods mayonaisse, Lipton tea, Knorr seasonings and Bertolli olive oil.

Well. So be it.

The only one of those products I was not sure I could live without was Hellmans (Best). Guess what, I found out I could. Giving up Hellmans (Best) should take a big chunk out their profits because most everyone likes Hellmans (Best).

I emailed them yesterday and received an automatic reply, saying that a personal reply would come in approximately two days.

My comments:

Add me to the list of former consumers of your products as a result of the disgusting display of vulgarity and disrespect towards the President by Whoopi Goldberg, your spokesperson.

My family of five was loyal consumers of several of your products, including Hellmans mayonnaise, Lipton tea, Dove soap, and Surf laundry detergent. I can tell you that I have used Hellmans mayonnaise and Lipton teas because that is what my parent's used.

The only way you will ever regain my family's business is to publicly denounce Ms Goldberg's comments and end your relationship with her.

This is great news. I just called Slim-Fast to add my voice to the chorus. The lady I spoke with expressed gratitude for the call. She said the number of calls coming in was critical for getting Marketing to take action. Money talks.

Gee, what a shame...How will we ever survive without "Whoopi" as a public figure? [irony]

Has Bill Cosby commented yet on the example set by this trash-mouth ex-convict? Why does the media present vulgar losers like Whoopi? Because they like the example of stupid-sounding representatives of minority groups?

WOW ! That is an incredible 1 day loss and one that is directly attributable to a single factor. Our words have consequences. The "real heart and soul of America" has spoken with their pocketbooks and rejected the crass vulgarity of a no talent has been. I can't help but think Unilever's shareholders will demand the marketing department do likewise.

Thank you for this thread, for listing the other products they sell, and for the Email link.

I gave them a respectful view into the product-boycotting mind of someone who doesn't appreciate the hate-filled speech of their spokeswoman, directed against a respectable sitting United States President who is working very hard to protect our country against hateful enemies.

They didn't get the benefit of the words being bolded but they got the above and a bit more.

Actually, the quote was "the heart and soul of America."

Thank you for your article. I made my email clear to them (but more importantly, I showed the wifey what we now boycott, dove, butter, and slimfast is now considered a non-renewable item).

They better learn the value of real American values, IMHO.

Whoopi also referred to Ronald Reagan (I believe it was) as "the f***ing president" at an AIDS rally (meaning, another shallow partisan rant-fest) years ago. Didn't cost her too many gigs, and obviously didn't trouble the j****** who runs SlimFast. In order to avoid a lot of boycotts in the future, our goal should be to PUT THAT COMPANY COMPLETELY OUT OF BUSINESS. And no, I don't sell a competing product.

Hey, guys...I hate to bring this up, but the DOW dropped 1.5% that day. Now that means we've still had an impact of about .5%, but it also means we need to try harder! I just poured my wife's Ultra Slim-crap down the drain.
