LOL! These are representative of the black community all right!
Now that they've dropped the little cross off the Los Angeles City Logo, who knows who's watching over them.
Forgive my cynicism and "who cares" attitude, but the way I look at it, if there's another riot, real estate values in the area will plummet like they did 12 years ago. Then maybe I could afford to buy a house.
And like '92, there is an incumbent Republican in the White House....another riot (timed perfectly with the George W. Bush/NAACP dust-up) is just what the left needs to "get out the base"....
I never got a house at a "fire" sale before.
ping for later
Who cares? Sorry if I sound harsh, but LA has been screwed up for a long time. Nothing short of several tons of explosives and live ordnance, properly applied, could make the place livable again.
Grin...
It's an election year. Mad Maxine and her minions will be getting frisky..
"GREAT PIECE OF REPORTING PATRICK!! "
(ping to LA-area folks)
It appears that Mr. Rooney is Director of Special Project at Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson's
organization. Here is a link to the archive of his writings.

After it was publicized that Ali has a trial pending for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident and identity theft, Ali hastily quit the citizens committee. Ali is reportedly a former member of the notorious Crips gang who was convicted of armed robbery in 1988 and who spent two years at the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi.
But even more interesting, the Christian Science Monitor interviewed Ali two years ago, and he revealed that he was an active participant in the 92 L.A. riots! His name was reportedly Todd Eskew (before later changing it to a Muslim name in prison):
Ali can't recall how many windows he broke, or how many fires he and his friends started. They'd light anything in a store that would burn and spread flames quickly -- and then run. Their rage was born of poverty and humiliation, and years of perceived abuse by police and neighborhood Korean stores. I was so angry I wanted to continue. But I stopped after two days out of sheer, physical exhaustion, says Mr. Eskew, who goes by the name of Najee Ali today
Bill Cosbny could do a lot of good if he went there and gave a speech.
My son and I saw the man being beaten by the cops on tv. Did he resist arrest before they got him on the ground? Riot was the first thing that popped up in my head :-(
I remember seeing the Rodney King beating. Even my former husband was screaming at the tv for the dumb mother****** to hit the ground. When the riots started, I became very worried about my parents living down here(at the time we lived in Victorville), because they didn't watch tv and didn't know there was civil unrest close by.
You might care, when your tax $$$'s go into the shady black companies and 'community leaders' pockets afterwards, or if they remember not to burn their own communities this time and come to your area.
Sorry to disappoint, but there will not be a riot this time.
25 to life would be a good start.
You remember the facts very well. The arsons were clearly strategically set, with smaller riotous ones, amid the overall. Yes, the stage is set. LA will not burn. Not this time. The demographics in LA has shifted considerably. LA is now largely a Latino/Hispanic population. Like bloody hell they won't fight back. That is, of course, unless liberal "Latino/Chicano" leaders demand it of them. Watching.
Good point...!
I was being sarcastic.
