Backup electrical systems failed to kick in

A mysterious power failure at Logan Airport that delayed dozens of flights for more than five hours has still not been explained – six days later.

Airport officials insist airline security was not compromised during the blackout Monday at Logan International's Terminal E, but backup electrical systems failed to kick in as they are programmed under such circumstances.

In following Israeli events for many years, it appears that the Hezbollah follow a pattern of staging many of their border attacks against Israel from Lebanon on Fridays. I am unsure on whether they base it on the Sabbath arriving on Saturday for Israeli's when many shops are closed or whether this is a pattern set up for other reasons. But, one should consider if the Hezbollah participates with AQ, a Friday hit might have the greatest probability. Anyone know how many AQ hits have come on Fridays?

Crop-Duster Crashes On York I-80 Overpass

YORK, Neb. -- A crop-duster plane has crashed on the Interstate 80 overpass at York, blocking traffic north- and southbound on the overpass.

Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said early reports indicate the pilot was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Some travelers from Chicago were able to pull the pilot out of the plane.

Collins said the patrol is aiding with traffic control and has dispatched a hazardous materials team to the scene of the 9 a.m. Friday crash. Collins said the plane reportedly had some chemical spill but it was not yet known what type or quantity was involved.

The eastbound on and off ramps are closed at the interchange but I-80 traffic has not been halted.

That's still about Hiroshima sized. If you're standing near ground zero, I'll bet you won't notice a difference. I'm in sincere doubt that there are any weapons with a yield in the megaton range out there. They're often referred to as "city-busters" and they usually sit atop a MIRV style ICBM. The SADM suitcase type devices are simply perfect for the type of attacks being contemplated by AQ. Frankly they scare me a lot. These could possibly run in excess of 20 KT. That would be pretty bad.

UN gets letter threatening EU

A LETTER threatening EU institutions in Brussels and The Hague was received at United Nations headquarters in New York a few days ago, Dutch Interior Minister Johan Remkes said today.

The Dutch news agency ANP said the letter was signed by the al-Qaeda terror group, which claimed responsibility for the September 11, 2001 attacks in the US.

The letter is currently being examined by the Dutch intelligence service, AIVD, Mr Remkes told the commercial RTL4 television station.

The Netherlands has held the rotating presidency of the European Union since July 1. The Hague, the country's seat of government, is home to the European police agency Europol and to the European crime fighting organisation Eurojust.

Separately, Mr Remkes told the national ANP news agency that officials have tightened security around government buildings, after getting information last Friday about possible attacks from inside the country and abroad.

They had been talking about fires in Florida in the Everglades area earlier this week on Fox...about two that were going to merge? Plus one in the Miami-Dade area about 9000 acres (just read an article about that one, also...rain helping get it under control...sounded different than the others mentioned above). Perhaps it was a tanker plane that was coming in or leaving from somewhere else? I know sometimes they fly them in or out from quite a distance depending on how bad things are and what else is available? Or even sometimes going quite a distance if they are ones that pick up water from bodies of water around, and depending on the needs of what type of locations they can pick it up from? I've seen them in really weird places out here in San Diego given where the fires are... I don't know...just a thought?
