I just watched Hannity interview Jack Ryan, former Republican candidate for the Senate from Illinois. Sean made some amazing challenges at the end of the interview.
SEAN: Will you consider getting back in this race?
JACK: Nothing has changed since my decision two weeks ago.
SEAN: Answer my question -- will you consider getting back in this race?
JACK: No.
SEAN: Under no circumstances . . .
JACK: Unless 25,000 people show up at my house and say we want Jack Ryan!
SEAN: If 25,000 people show up in front of your house, you'll consider it . . .
JACK: Yes, I'll consider it.
SEAN: How about 10,000?
JACK: How about 5,000? How about 50, how about 10? Like in the Biblical story . . .
SEAN: How about 5,000? If 5,000 show up in front of your house, you'll consider it, saying "Run, Jack, Run"?
JACK: Is this you orchestrating this? I'll consider it, how's that?
The above reeks of a mealy-mouthed, spineless coward.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
It was a divorce proceding. He made some accusations against her and she made some against him. They may have been false. They may have been exaggerated. There is no way those records should have been unsealed.
Jack should be ready to be in politics after just a few more Illinois Republican catastrophies, just hang in there a few more election cycles and encourage him to keep running year after year.
I saw him on Hannity
What spinless wimp
Plus, she was having an affair, even according to her own testimony.
Thanks for the ping!
Going over to Europe and engaging in an 'excursion' above and beyond something that might not fit into YOUR lifestyle choice...well, that sounds a bit stifling on your part. Perhaps YOUR sexual preferences might not be as challenging as other people's? Europeans have a lifestyle that is a lot more open than ours is...well, open....in that it is more accepted...and, who are you to judge what is considered perverted...between consentual, MARRIED adults? Did the Ryans come back to the US and try to promote a lifestyle that would allow consentual adults to engage in private matters of a sexual nature...beyond the norm of a 'couple'?
Perhaps what he did with his wife...or attempted to do..was not an embarrassment to him.
Please...understand that sex is sex....and we all have our own preferences....the whole thing boils down to privacy....unfortunately, that is lost in the salaciousness of this story.
Republicans enjoy sex as much as any Democrat. Please, don't forget that. ;)
OMG...thank you...thank you....thank you....thank you...sheesh....drooled on that last one...
;)
This is the People's Republic of Illinois we're talking about. I question whether Jesus and Moses could win statewide office if they ran as Republicans.
LOLOLOL! Those are precious! Kudos!
JACK: Is this you orchestrating this? I'll consider it, how's that?
The above Illinois Leader quotes are NOT accurate. Just reviewed the tape of Hannity's interview.
Ryan does say: "Is this you orchestrating this?"
But he does NOT say, "I'll consider it, how's that?"
The Leader aspparently added that last little tidbit just to spice the story up.
sean hannity doesn't seem to be able to actually listen to people. jack ryan made it very clear that he did not want to get back in the race, but hannity kept badgering him. hannity's ad during the break talked about people being "hannitized".
i think he is tripping over his ego.
"He was married to Seven of Nine"
He was married to Free Republic's Servant of the Nine?!
Man, Sot9 shoulda' talked him out of it!
Ed
FR's Seven of Nine?
Well, thanks for the note. And lo and behold, the interview just came on Fox News again. Here's what I just heard: JACK: Is this you orchestrating this? Ar-i-i-i (smiling and laughing a bit) (Sean interrupts with what he says next. Jack says his thanks and goodbye.) That's my report. You decide. I've got a note to the Illinois Leader and I know their editor to be among our most honest of souls amid a very busy staff.
Oops, should have pinged you to this last post (linked). Apparently, Jack didn't really waffle nearly so much in that Hannity & Colmes (well... Hannity) interview.
But since he won't run, I'm not voting for him, so there.
Not at all, he is actually considering coming back in, that would be a first in the sordid history of slash and burn politics, there is nothing mealy mouthed about it. You and others should see the importance, of first of all the groundswell, that wants him back in. This is a strong anti-media urge, quite healthy, and second, the chastising of republican party officials for yielding too quickly to a media that has become a high tech lyncher. Ryan isn't mealy mouthed or any of the other words you reserve for him, he is actually flirting with the idea of telling the major media to piss off, and running anyway. Hope he does, it would be a huge development in the growing hatred of the media.
