"Back in March, he chose NOT to use these parliamentary maneuvers during the debacle over the ill-fated gun makers' protection act. "
And why not?
The Dems always use every possible tactic and maneuver, the Republicans virtually never do. That's why the Dems are more successful in either pushing their agenda through, or stopping ours, even with the Republican leadership.
It's time for the Republicans to wake up and fight fire with fire.

Recent Department of Justice records indicate that the use of banned assault weapons in crimes has declined measurably -- by 65% in one analysis
The use declined by 65%?
That indicates - by one analysis - that fewer genuine imitation assault weapons were used. Thats not surprising when it is considered they can no longer be imported of manufactured here - they ones available are now outrageously expensive.
How much has the use of Uzis and AK-47s declined?
Im still waiting to hear from him on the subject of how an assault weapons ban that does not ban any assault weapons saves lives.
has not infringed upon the rights of law-abiding gun owners.
It has infringed on my right - I would like to have an M-14 like the one I carried in Viet Nam - but the few on the market are way out of my price range.

What's a California Freeper to do?
Well, I'm gonna call Feinswine's office and complain that putting this issue on the table now may harm Boxer's chances for re-election. :-)
Bang!

Fienstein has lost it.
Suppose she gets to add the Sport Utility Rifle Ban to the Class acrion limitation.
Now Dem Senators are either going to have to explain to the Trial Lawyers (their biggest financial supporters) why they voted to limit Class actions
OR
Explain to the gun grabber lobby, why after getting a gun ban measure to a vote, they all vote against it.
One Senator might be able to get away with "I voted for it, before I voted against it", but all of them?

Note sent to Frist. Let's hope he gets his backbone and cajones back from deep storage soon enough to do some about it.

Throwing rocks at the opposition would make the rocks assult weapons wouldn't it? So lets ban rocks since they could be thrown in an offensive posture.
Any item that could be used to inflict damage could be considered an assult weapon. Kitchen knives, automobiles, airplanes, slingshots, fists, can all be considered assult weapons using the generalities anti gunners describe firearms being "assult weapons".
A gun has always been intended to appear threatening because a firearm is not only an offensive tool, but a defensive tool. The same mentality the gun banners use is to outlaw pit bulls and doberman dogs because they intimidate the weak in stature without ever actually biting them. Politicians, being weak in stature, fear the picture of a firearm that could depose them from their position of authority. Feinstein is a Commie in disguise.

If Specter supports the gun ban this time around, I'm voting Democrat.

....If, on the other hand, Feinstein is successful in forcing her amendment to the president's desk, Bush has indicated that he will sign the ban --...
If W signs an AWB, he will follow in his fathers footsteps.
one term only.
God help us all.

Why? Is his Rat opponent more conservative on this (or any other) issue? I can see voting 3rd party or even staying home in protest, but unless the Rat in question is a very unusual one - a Zell Miller-type, for instance - I don't see the purpose of voting for him/her.
....or perhaps were you were being sarcastic.

If, on the other hand, Feinstein is successful in forcing her amendment to the president's desk......... She can't force jack -- it has to pass the House (where she has no influence), and the chance of that happening is very slim. I'd be very surprised if this thing sees the top of Dubya's desk.

actually, voting for the Socialist Dem Hoeffel is GOOD for the whole country.
Specter(pro-abortion,pro-stemcell,pro-gunlaws,ect..)is next in line for the Senate Judiciary Chairmanship and will "litmus test" every nominee that his cronies the Dems don't like. effectively setting back our movement to elect conservative judges years, maybe decades.
If Specter is defeated in November Sen. Kyl ,one of the highest rated(ACU)conservative Senator will be Chair of the SJC.
so hold your nose and vote Dem for Sen. in PA.

I agree.
W's statement was a blunt warning to us. He is relying on us to let our Senators and congressmen know how we feel. If WE fail to control our Representatives.
