"Back in March, he chose NOT to use these parliamentary maneuvers during the debacle over the ill-fated gun makers' protection act. "

And why not?

The Dems always use every possible tactic and maneuver, the Republicans virtually never do. That's why the Dems are more successful in either pushing their agenda through, or stopping ours, even with the Republican leadership.

It's time for the Republicans to wake up and fight fire with fire.

Because the vast majority of the R's are RINO's and part of the NWO along with the D's. There ain't a dime's worth of difference except in the presention.

Constitution Party next time.

You assume that the Republicans really see themselves as engaged in opposing the Democrats, rather than having the job of maintaining a fiction that there is actually an opposing political party while making sure that no Dem initiative is ever rolled back

A large core of the Republican Party was highjacked several years ago by left-wingers, (progressives, liberals, communists, Trotskyites, etc.), when the Republicans took over both Houses in '94. They like to refer to themselves as "moderates" or Neo-Cons, but they seem to vote more with liberal Democrats than true Conservatives. It's best we concentrate more on educating our fellow citizens and neighbors on OUR INALIENABLE RIGHTS that are ETCHED IN STONE. I don't care what Bills may come before Congress or what "opinion" the Supreme Court may render, I will NOT abide by it, period.
