FBI urges vigilance for July 4
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

That is fine.
Just let me know how it's done.
General response: Most Americans, as I know us, are not all that self destructive. Sure we might all do certain things at different times that tear down our health, but, generally speaking, most of us would do whatever it took to defend our own. I 'spect we all will defend our own.
Alls I can say is I'm glad I ain't muslim, for more reasons than one.

LILLINGTON, N.C. -- Federal investigators are trying to determine how two teenagers obtained syringes containing a nerve gas antidote, Lillington police said Wednesday.
Way TO GO JIM!
I used to be Richard Petty on my tricycle, until I decided to be Evil Knievel, and went off the porch and landed in the holly bush I was trying to jump. I quickly became Richard Petty again.

This is a link to an updated news report about the loaded coal train that derailed in Southern Illinois this morning.
snip:
>>Thomson said the train of three locomotives and 136 cars loaded with coal derailed as it crossed a bridge over the roadway. He said eight coal cars fell onto the interstate and four others derailed, but those did not fall onto the roadway.
It's unclear whether the bridge over the interstate gave way or the train simply derailed when it was on the bridge, he said.
Tom Zerrusen, a district engineer with the Illinois Department of Transportation, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the bridge seemed stable, even though a concrete walkway alongside the track crumbled when the train cars fell.
"There is no problem with the overhead bridge," Zerrusen said. "People can use the road as soon as we can get the coal removed."
Fleda McCoy, 46, of Murphysboro, had just merged onto the interstate going south when she saw the train derail.
She said she saw debris falling from underneath the bridge before the train cars fell off.
"It seemed like the track was giving away," McCoy told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. "Fragments and pieces of coal started hitting my car."
She said her car wasn't damaged, but she was shaken, having stopped only two car lengths back from the derailment.<<
Wouldn't a railway bridge that crosses a major interstate be subjected to very strict inspections of the bridges on a regular basis? Shouldn't there have been some early warning signs that the bridge was becoming unstable?
For some reason, this incident seems hinky to me.
Oooouch ! I guess so. Petty was always more exciting to me than Knievel.
Hehehe. Chinese usta have a sayin-it was really sorta a curse-- "may you live in interesting times." We certainly do.

Maybe things are starting to heat up Liz.
You forgot one.
11. Senator Tom D. Thinks the report is too serious to be used for political purposes.
And in that case you better go "Red"
Police are evacuating Campbell Industrial Park.
The road is closed at Makaole Street just after the Hawaii Raceway Park.
Authorities found an abandoned tanker truck there late Friday afternoon and it could contain hazardous materials.
The truck has no markings on it so no one knows who it belongs to.
Fire crews are taking air samples to determine what the truck may contain.
We have a crew on the scene and News 8 will have the latest information on News 8 at 10.
