FBI urges vigilance for July 4
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

Deja-Vu Warning Of Egyptian Intentions
18:09 Jul 04, '04 / 15 Tammuz 5764
An item in Friday's Arutz-7 report is forebodingly reminiscent of a warning issued two years before Egypt's surprise attack against Israel on Yom Kippur 1973.
Arutz-7 reported on Friday that U.S. Representative Tom Lantos (D-Ca.) warned that Egypt is building up its military in preparation for a future war with Israel. The House International Relations Committee member said that Egypt's military build-up and exercises are "ominously geared toward an Israeli enemy," and that Egypt recently supplemented its navy with 11 new battle units and other weapons procurements - despite the fact that Egypt has no serious enemies in the region.
This is not the first time that US legislators have warned of hostile Egyptian intentions towards Israel - and sometimes they have even been correct. A headline in the Sep. 24, 1971 issue of Maariv blared, "Senator [Henry "Scoop"] Jackson Warns: 100,000 Egyptians are Planning to Cross the Suez Canal." Haggai Segal, who discovered the headline last year, noted that Jackson's warning accurately predicted what happened just two years later: "We have proof of vigorous Egyptian exercises for the purpose of completing military plans to infiltrate [Sinai by] crossing the canal," Jackson said, providing concrete examples of the Egyptian preparations.
Rep. Lantos said a few days ago that he plans to introduce legislation that will reduce and eventually eliminate the $1.3 billion Egypt receives annually in US military aid.

Did you find other Islamic centers located near nuclear power plants?
>>>I've found reference to three separate ricin incidents here
>>>Two involving "Fallen Angel".
The diver that had the tattoo, with CMM written on it, also had a picture of an angel.
Well that's just plain odd. Do we have access to identifying marks of known terrorists? Is there a tattoo that they use to ID each other, or similar?
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A federal judge threw out a lawsuit Tuesday by a whistle-blower who alleged security lapses in the FBI's translator program, ruling that her claims might expose government secrets that could damage national security.
U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton said he was satisfied with claims by Attorney General John Ashcroft and a senior FBI official that the civil lawsuit by Sibel Edmonds could expose intelligence-gathering methods and disrupt diplomatic relations with foreign governments.
The judge said he couldn't explain further because his explanation itself would expose sensitive secrets.
Would be an interesting research project thought. Mosques near nuclear. Hmmm.
That's a bit eerie. We will have to monitor Egypt closely. Since it is really the only Muslim or Arab nation in that region with some kind of pleasant relationship with Israel, I cannot see how Lantos' planned legislation would pass easily. I can't see us eliminating aid to Egypt at all, perhaps slightly reducing it.
But the way things are going, it would not be extraordinary if Egypt is making some damaging moves behind the scenes for the very purpose of an attack on Israel. (I would love to hear what goes on at the Arab Summit meetings.)
Since we are every nation's sugar daddy, we can always resort to financial arm twisting! I wonder if Israel will convince GWB and Congress to do some arm twisting.
Goodnight Revel & ALL; I am falling alseep at my laptop!
Good Night
DAKAR, Senegal (AP) -- The handover of the Sahara's top terror suspect was in jeopardy Tuesday after Libya announced it had killed two of the Algerian extremist's accomplices when they allegedly tried to cross into Libyan territory.
Rebels holding Amari Saifi, the No. 2 of the al-Qaida-allied Algerian Salafist Group for Call and Combat, said they believed the two slain men were Saifi's accomplices. The rebels said they had handed the men over to Libya in a peaceful exchange.

Sleep well Donna.
Ping to Revel's post #2079. If the Iran border is closed in Iraq, I bet this contributed to the decision.
Thank you, both! Night.
OK...Ran across this in my travels. Can't say if it is "truth or kook". But it is rather interesting:
A Glimpse Into Chinas Post-Nuclear Super-Weapons:
Interview with Lev Navrozov
Author of
Out of Moscow and into New York
I am thankful to Lev Navrozov, an expert in post-nuclear super-weapons as he calls it, for granting this
interview. Navrozov has written for Newsmax.com for two years, and his weekly column has nine million
visitors each month. Newsmax.coms biography of him is as follows:
"Lev Navrozov: NewsMax.com columnist and journalist. One of the most brilliant minds in the world,'
according to many distinguished Westerners and Russians. Published over 1,000 columns and articles on the
destiny of civilizations, world culture, geostrategy, defence, and intelligence work since his emigration from
Russia in 1972. Winner of Albert Einstein Prize for outstanding intellectual achievements. Author of the
'Education of Lev Navrozov' (Harper & Row, 1975), compared by the reviewers to Mark Twain, Proust, Orwell,
Voltaire, and Dostoyevsky. More than 20 of his articles are in the United States Congressional Record."
I encourage readers to visit his website at www.levnavrozov.com and to check out his book, Out of
Moscow and into New York: A Life in the Geostrategically Lobotomized West in the Age of Terrorism and
Post-Nuclear Superweapons. Saul Bellow, a Nobel Prize winner and novelist and scholar has said the
following regarding the book (to Navrozov):
I doubt whether you (or anyone) can restore the diminishing sight of what you call 'the sightless and
hence doomed' West. What one can attempt is to describe the condition in its fundamentals. This
indispensable description if it is to be uncontestable will take more strength than any normal man has, for what
we have is a probably fatal case of political poisoning, and the distortions and hallucinations it causes may be
impossible to dispel. You must have more strength than any normal man or you would not have set yourself such
a task.
My intriguing interview should be able to open your mind to the danger coming from China and the
Russian weapons developed from nanotechnology that they are working on.
Much More:

Yup. I just don't understand why our airlines don't take up El Al's lead. In 1996 I had to change planes at the Munich, Germany airport. Military police everywhere, just as a matter of routine, all armed with HKSMG. Sure made me behave :-)
All over except for telling us sheeple what is was/wasn't.
They said bomb threats. If that's all it takes, there's gonna be a lot of kids being idiots this summer.
Good Night, talk to you in the morning.
