Maybe the paleocons are like the America Firsters who didn't see the sense of siding with a Soviet despot who killed 30 million people against a German despot who killed 12 million.

Maybe because the Soviet only wanted to kill his own people, while the German was rolling through Europe killing everyone else's citizens...that and the fact that the German was bombing England and declaring war on us...

Go back and read your history books. In the midst of their tour through Europe "killing everyone else's citizens," the Germans actually had far more support from the people they conquered than you can imagine.

One of the great myths of World War II, for example, is that the Allies "liberated" France. The reality is that the Vichy government wasn't just a puppet government installed by the Germans -- it was a government that most people in France were perfectly content to live with.
